Family visit at the Rhode Island game.
First time I had been to a UD vball game in something like 20 years (roughly since I graduated). I knew they were good, but wow.

It seemed like it took URI about 10 minutes to get a single ball over the net.
An exaggeration to be sure. But darn impressive.

Cannot say enough good things about team. Was a joy to watch.
Only 'bad thing' was my 11 year old girl was acting as ball girl.
So I could not be in her ear about just how awesome a display was being put on. She had great view.

Not exactly what I remember from the early 90s.... ha ha.
(no disrespect to the team of that era).
Hoping to catch more games.

I didnt think we played that well against Fordham. Kind of sluggish early on and not very physical. Which translates into: not doing enough defensive work at the net. That seems to be our bugaboo when we're sort of going through the motions against a less talented team. After about a set we started toughening up and from there took firm control.

The URI match was a knife through warm butter for the most part. So tough to gauge progress against inferior competition. I get the impression Shef is not doing cartwheels at their consistency and play of late. They certainly turn it on, but not from match to match and start to finish. Its tough to stay focused in the A10 at times. I think Turner is slowly coming around however. Shes probably on an A10 All Rookie pace.
