Amber hitting in the 800s, 2 matches in a row is very impressive. And she had a bunch of blocks these last two matches. I would not be surprised if she wins both the POW and Defensive POW.

Back in the 2008, 09 or 2010 season, a Purdue middle blocker had a perfect hitting match. Later Becky Novacek went 9 kills in 9 swings in a match. So I dug out the ncaa record book. At that time to it took 10 swings to make the record book. So Novacek did not meet the threshold. I think the Purdue middle did. I think she went something like 12 for 12.

I haven't looked it up today, so the threshold might be even more swings now. Whatever the ncaa threshold is I think it should be the same for UD records.

All that said, I'm pretty confident no UD player has hit in the 800s two matches in a row with at least 10 swings. Very impressive two matches for Amber. And congrats to the players that passed and set all those swings because those two touches had to be very good for Amber to be so successful

Illinois State beats UC 16-14 in the 5th. SHU, ILS, and UD all go 2-1 but I think UD wins the tournament with a better set winning percentage (UD-6-3, SHU-6-6, ILS-8-5). If they give an MVP, one would think Erhahon would be unanimous.

Followup - Dayton declared tournament winner based on "set differential percentage". As expected Erhahon MVP.

Illinois State (4-5) had two representatives on the all-tournament team in Jaelyn Keena and Juma Armando. They were joined by Cincinnati's Carly Nolan, Seton Hall's Abby Thelen, and Dayton's Jane Emmenecker, Margo Wolf and Amber Erhahon, who was named the Tournament MVP.

Another busy week coming up. IUPUI on Tuesday. WKU, tosu, and NIU in Columbus Friday and Saturday.
