Hopefully the boys build on the 2nd Half they played yesterday against Mississippi State... Take care off the freaking ball! Shake it off Baby D!

The Golden Eagles are 7-2, their best win is over New Mexico. They average about 85 points per game and shoot about 38% from 3 with is really good

Game is on Wednesday at 7 PM and will be shown on Spectrum Sports.

Starting Lineup:
G 4 Aleksa Jugovic 6’3” 185 SR Leskovac, Serbia
G 10 Kajon Mack 6’3” 190 GS Los Angeles, CA
F 15 Curtis Phillips Jr. 6’5” 185 SR Memphis, TN
F 25 Mason Ramsey 6’6” 230 SR Livingston, TN
F 22 Courtney Alexander II 6’7” 205 JR Mableton, GA

They have 5 guys who average in double figures led by Jugovic at 14.3... Alexander like Josh averages about 10 rebounds a game.

Hopefully we can build some momentum in the next 3 home games before we head to Moraga to face Saint Mary's.

Work hard boys! Go UD!

F 22 Courtney Alexander II 6’7” 205 JR Mableton, GA

Alexander like Josh averages about 10 rebounds a game.

Wow! Fondly recall watching Courtney Alexander Sr. at Fresno State.

Second to Dayton, Fresno was my must-watch team from about 1996 to 2000. I didn't root for them, because these were BAD dudes, worse then even UC under Huggins at that time. Post UNLV Jerry Tarkanian was basically given free reign to assemble a team which at one point had 9 guys facing drug and/or assault charges! They had one guy who was charged for armed robbery... with a sword! There was a federal gambling investigation. There was a 60 minutes story.

But man, did they have talent too. Five or six McDonalds/Parade All Americans, most of whom like Courtney Alexander had fallen from grace at their original schools, only to be welcomed out west by Tark, the Shark.

Courtney Alexander was a silky smooth guard who could score from anywhere. He started his career at UVA - transferring amidst sexual assault allegations -- before making it to Fresno State, and ultimately being an NBA lottery pick. He played well early into his NBA career, but he just couldn't stay healthy and flamed out after just a few years in the league.

While Alexander was great, he was far from the only memorable player from that era. There was the brash, always high/drunk Chris Herren, NYC (Rucker Park) playground legend Rafer "skip-to-my-lou" Alston, the undersized but unstoppable Terrance Roberson (2nd leading scorer in the history of Fresno hoops), and the imposing rim protector and future NBA lottery pick Melvin Ely. And of course, there was Tark, the evil mastermind, chewing that towel on the bench.

Watching that Fresno State circus from afar was endlessly entertaining. If nothing else, this next opponent has afforded me a fun trip down memory lane, and it'll be cool to watch Courtney's son, though he's clearly a very different player than his dad. Alexander, the younger, has a couple inches on dad, and is a physical, under-the-basket player. He's a rebounder, and put-back guy unlike dad who was perimeter-oriented. Also unlike dad, he was very unheralded coming out of high school. Looks like Tenn Tech was his only scholarship offer, though he had interest from the likes of Harvard, so he must be a smart kid. Majoring in pre-medicine... Good for him.

UD -9.

But, TTU won at New Mexico by 8, 104-96...scoring 104 points on the road is no small task.

The 30/30 on Chris Herren is really fascinating if you haven't seen it. He's turned his life around and is now doing good work within the community. He was an absolute mess for a decade or so while playing basketball; probably shouldn't even be alive right now.

They've scored over 90 at least four times.

however, only scored 60 last week in what was probably their toughest matchup so far.

I also don't see much size after looking at their roster/stats. Lots of wings, guards... Not a lot of muscle. So they must be fast, and shoot it.

I think the zone is helping keep him and Cunningham out offoul trouble but i think zones in general are soft and i dont like them used extensively (unless its Syracuse-like)
