Cedarville (Exhibition) Game Thread

It's unofficially game week once again! Let's see what the boys got.

Game is at 5 PM on Saturday Afternoon/Evening.

Potential Starting Lineup:

G 2 Branden Maughmer 6’3” 180 SO Chillicothe, Ohio
G 55 Quinton Green 6’7” 185 SO Columbus, Ohio
F 5 Isaiah Speelman 6’6” 205 SO Hilliard, Ohio
F 35 Conner TenHove 6’7” 225 JR Valparaiso, Indiana
C 10 Kollin Van Horn 6’8” 225 SO Proctorville, Ohio

TenHove is their best player... averaged 15 a night last year.

Cedarville lost their first exhibition game to Valpo 85-65 (TenHove had 19)... They head to Columbus to face OSU tomorrow.

Not sure if it will be streamed... I don't believe the exhibition was streamed last year.

It doesn't look like the game is being streamed. Not sure what they are thinking. There will probably be one of the biggest crowds for an exhibition and they are not taking care of we out of towners. Disappointed.

I'm excited to see this game because of Cedarville's 6'7" Sophomore Guard Quinton Green. The kid was way under recruited because he was home schooled. He played his high school ball for a home school team, the Miami Valley Saints.

My grandson used to go to the same basketball trainer that Quinton did for a few years. I always thought that he had D-1 potential with his length and ability to shoot it. The kid had 16 of Cedarville's 52 points vs. OSU. I am very interested to see how he will compete against our Flyers.

Just a heads up. some people had problems with their tickets at last night's WBB exhibition. Had to go out of line and back to and to the ticket office to get it straightened out.
Might want to consider that possibility when planning your arrival time.

If you do not have a parking pass for the game (it is game #1 for the season tickets), then yes, overflow by Marriott.

Loved the balanced scoring, the team play, the 9 steals, Ibi, the 45% three shooting, Sissoko with 12 pts and 9 rebounds and Ibi, again, we pushed the ball on offense and had pressure on D.

Not so good: that we beat a weak team, Matos struggled, weak rebounding the first 25 minutes.

Sissoko ain't red shirting.

I was impressed (especially with all the new guys). I think we have a lot of talent. We have a lot more depth than recent years. We have some muscle inside and some nice new shooters outside. We have two high quality point guards. I hope the chemistry is there this year, because I think this team has all the necessary parts.

Based on the unselfish team play and the bench rooting for the players on the court, I think they have chemistry.

"Cedarville's Pat Estepp coached against Ohio State and Dayton this week. Asked to compare them, he said, "I think right now Dayton might have a little leg up because they're a little more veteran. I'd love to see those teams play in January or February. That would be a game."

I think Fair34 and I tied for first, because we both predicted UD 91, Cedarville 58, which means we each got 4 points (nailed the spread, but were 2 points under for each team). In my case, it’s proof that a blind squirrel will find an acorn occasionally.

Tom Michaels. Larry was covering the football game.

Tom Michaels has worked for WHIO in the past and freelances I believe. At various times he will fill in for Larry when bball/football conflict. Also used to be the PA announcer for volleyball.
