Another Very Big Road Game coming up this weekend... Battle for 1st place in the A-10. Chris Mooney's Spiders are playing really well right now even though they just lost leading scorer Blake Francis for about another month. This is definitely not the same dumpster fire of team we saw at the Arena last year.

Game is on Saturday Night at 6 PM and will be on ESPN+... CBSSN must be kicking themselves after picking Mason vs. Davidson at the same time lol

Gilyard is a fantastic PG, playing like 1st Team All-A10 (14.0 PPG 3.6 RPG 5.6 APG 3.3 SPG), he actually leads the nation in Steals... Golden is a really good big man as well, averages about 13 points 7 rebounds a night... Sherod is back from injury and can stroke it from 3 at about 42%.

Going to be a battle vs. the Much-Improved Spiders.

Take care of the ball especially against this team.

One of Richmond's subs is Jake Wojcik, scored in double figures last time out. If the last name rings familar, his father Dave was an assistant for BG for a season or two, before leaving to be an assistant with Jake's Uncle Doug who presumably played with BG at Navy for a bit and with the Admiral. I assume Jake lived in the area as a youth for a bit, perhaps too young to remember much of anything about his time here.

There’s a high probability of that. No one in the A-10 can stay with our guys in the open court (think L.A. Lakers in the Showtime era). Richmond’s best chance is to force a half court game.

I don't think they "let" it happen. Richmond is a good team and made over 50% from 3's. Give them credit. They got hot and had the crowd back on their side.

Someone had said after another game that Trey sometimes gets called for fouls because he is strong. I think this was the case today.

This UD team is pretty darn good. Richmond is a good team, especially offensively, and it would normally be a tall order for a good UD team to go there and pull out a win. This UD team dominates a good portion of the game and has the guns to overcome those tough calls you get on the road and the best counter-punches that Richmond could throw. This team is getting some swagger.

I'm starting to wonder if that target that being a top ten team brings also includes Refs. That piece of garbage that called that screen foul on Trey was standing right there and saw everything. Trey was being picked on from the start of the game. I still don't know what happened for him to get the 2nd foul when Mikesell slapped the ball out of the guys hands and got all ball. And then, they tried to give him a foul when he wasn't on the court. And when Richmond called timeout when they didn't have any left, that same ref who called the screen foul, kind shrugged his shoulders and had a look like "well, we have to T them up, nothing else we can do".

Even though we won, I'm ticked, so screw you Rollo and all refs.

yep....that was a classic reactionary call by the ref on that screen. that screen was as clean a screen as you can make. the ref saw the dude hurt himself running into a wall and the crowd reacting and called an offensive. coach was right to be mad, i wasn't mad about the T he got. coach was absolutely right "f'ing bullsh..."

I agree. In real time it was a clear legal screen by Trey. The call was terrible.

However, I think AG should not have got T’d up. I saw the potential for Richmond to get hot from 3. AG should have saw that to. The technical helped Richmond build momentum and make this game close. I think AG can stand up for Trey in other ways.

I was glad to see this team finish off a close game, but it shouldn’t have been this close.

Impressive win on the road against a Richmond team I was really worried about. Spiders got red hot at the end to make it closer, but not close enough.

By the way, if Richmond has its entire starting lineup back next year, they should be very interesting then.

Ref is a Michigan fan. Trey’s brother at OSU must have done some damage in a game in the past. Only logical explanation I can think of.

Probably depends on what point of the season because the way the team was playing during the NCAA was like a well oiled machine.
