Really Tough Game in DC... Hard to come out, go on the road at a place where we have struggled recently after the "High" of winning last night... Also it is their Senior Night and they have won 4 in a row... But if there is any coach that can get them ready it is Archie.

Game is at 8 PM on Saturday Night and will be shown on CBS Sports Network.

As you know Cavanaugh is easily their best player 17.5 PPG 8.1 RPG... Watanabe has been solid as well, 11.9 PPG 4.9 RPG

Archie recruited Cavanaugh when he left Wake; don't know if there would have been room for both (I'm guessing yes) or if Archie would have wanted both, but GW landed Cavanaugh, UD got Cooke.

This could be a classic "trap" game after last night's brawl and the clinching of the A-10 regular season Championship. GW will probably be sky-high and we'll get their best shot...obviously, staying focused and energized after the past few games will be difficult.

i've already resigned myself to something funky happening with .01 second on clock to cost us the game so a win will just be gravy as far as I'm concerned. Not to mention, a win would certainly get us rated going into the conference tourney and that just never happens.

This game at GW has a lot of meaning for GW and its season. Got to stay focused.

In the grand scheme of things, this game means nothing. We're already the #1 seed in the A10T and our seed for the NCAAT isn't going to go up or down based on today's outcome...it's dependent on how we do in the A10T.

If ever there was a game that we do not need to worry about, this is the one. I say we play to win, but also play not to get anyone hurt.

The Flyers already locked up the A10 with a win against VCU. George Washington, while out of the NCAA Tournament picture at 17-13, has won four in a row, most recently coming back from an 18-point deficit at Fordham . It’s senior night and they’ll be celebrating Tyler Cavanaugh , the NIT Most Outstanding Player last season, and I think they have a decent shot to pull the upset.

I don't know if I'd go THAT far. It's certainly not a must-win, and I agree that we should play not to get hurt (like maybe rest Scooch more by playing Crosby, etc.), but every game is now important if we want to avoid the 8/9 seed. Can't give the committee any excuses (oh, they lost to another sub 100 team). Personally I don't mind the 8/9 seed, but the numbers do show that it is harder to make a run than for a 6 or 7.

Beats the hell out of me, I just like posting stuff that looks like good bulletin board material.

With ten deep, the flyers will be tough to handle

Serious question. Really? I always thought the committee waves off semi-final or final game losses in conference tournaments a lot more than they would a regular season loss to a team not close to you in rankings.

Personally I'd rather bow out of the A10 tournament after a quarter-final win than lose this one. Getting to the final game of A10 tournament could mean 4 games in 7 days and if winning the first game of dance, 5 games in 9 days.

Heard on local radio earlier today that GW considers this their biggest game of the year. Look out!

Fighting Back... 34-22 GW with 7:40 left

And Darrell may have whiplash or a concussion because Cavanaugh nailed him with a legal screen. Xman was all the way back and obviously didn't call out the screen

Either D. Davis doesn't listen well or he doesn't get any heads up, but boy he runs into some crunching picks.

Cavanaugh with 16. He will score 60 at this rate.

He walked once!!!! Cunningham was guarding him that time though.

Xman and Mikesell are helpless against him just like they were helpless against Aldridge.

Crosby with a forced drive and bad shot. Got away with one earlier too.

Pollard has been our saving grace on the road...keeping us in this one too.

I hate having the GW student section behind Larry & Bucky. I don't mind them acting like asshats. I just don't want to hear them doing it.

Some early observations and questions:

Did Cooke even make the trip?
Is Scooch sick? Or in the dog house?
Crosby doing better at not picking up his dribble.
Nobody on GW has much of a handle. Starting the 2nd half with a few press possessions could be interesting.

The good news is they can't shoot FGs any better in the 2nd half and we can't(I don't think) shoot FTs any worse.

Pollard takes a turn on Cavanaugh and immediately gives up a wide open 3. KP hedged entirely too far.

Why do we double team the ball and leave Cavanaugh wide open, twice now??

My goodness, Dayton: you're letting GW look like VCU on the offensive glass.

Our defensive rebounding or lack of is becoming a real issue

Also, when Scoochie and Cooke are both no shows this team has no chance

Becoming??? Been an issue all year and is the reason there is no way this team is getting a final four and most likely to an elite 8.

The only positive I can take from that first half is, as far as I know, nobody got hurt.

GW with 50 in the first half; Cavanaugh with 19.

Hope that is is a tale of two different halves.

So our strategy is to let their best player shoot unimpeded and hope he misses. Nice.

2 chances to call moving screens on Cavanaugh on the last GW possession but no whistle.

"Listen, guys: I have a Groupon for a Smithsonian tour which expires tomorrow, so if you're not going to put forth some effort I have some other stuff I can do instead."

We are shooting 48% and losing by 17. We are 1-7 on threes and they are 10-15, and that is the game.

At one point, Bucky said Cunningham was limping. Not sure if he played after that as I am listening, not watching.

Good thing we won at Davidson last week.
