LOL. Its too bad UD doesn't have a higher quality feed. I'm hoping once they get the video boards the quality of the feed improves because I would think they would need some higher quality cameras, etc to go with the video boards.

lol nice

jcubspoe 11-22-2010 07:00 PM

This might be a boring game....hopefully we put these guys away by the 10 min mark. Should get some good pt for Oliver, Hill, and Spearman in this one.

Well, I take this back.......

flyerfanatic86 11-22-2010 07:07 PM

It's unfortunate this game won't see us lead wire to wire.

Wright should be able to take them off the dribble anytime he wants.

jcubspoe 11-22-2010 07:16 PM

Why are experimenting with lineups when we don't even have the lead?

Glassman 11-22-2010 07:18 PM

Umm... Not saying the sky is falling, but what's going on here? Did we overlook Savannah State or are we just playing around with them before we unleash our fury?

I agree with you but on the other hand as bad as Savannah St is, it shouldn't really matter who we play.

BG doesn't want us to cover!

After a physically and emotionally draining comeback 2 days ago, I kind of expected us to come out slow. I expect our depth (and their foul trouble) to contribute to a comfortable win in the end.

jcubspoe 11-22-2010 07:24 PM

uhhhhhh.....fts????

SHQCKEY 11-22-2010 07:25 PM

already left 6 points at the free throw line

jcubspoe 11-22-2010 07:25 PM

seriously guys??? missed our last 6 straight FTS???

flyerfanatic86 11-22-2010 07:27 PM

Law of averages. I guess I would rather them miss the free throws tonight than Sat. I guess.

C-time 11-22-2010 07:31 PM

Please guard Shuler!!

udx2 11-22-2010 07:32 PM

Nice to see Juwan make the free throws and CW hit the 3

jcubspoe 11-22-2010 07:34 PM

Agreed udX2...maybe gets Staten off the schnide.

priceg75 11-22-2010 07:34 PM

This is the type of game that probably won't punish us for playing poor D. Not sure how much we will learn that we need to learn on defense from this game.

Benson continues with a nice rebound after a poor first 2 games.

jcubspoe 11-22-2010 07:37 PM

We are crushing this team on the boards.

So what?

priceg75 11-22-2010 07:44 PM

"Rolando" Blackman. LOL.

Levelbest 11-22-2010 07:45 PM

Wow... Do we have a long way to go. We simply cannot play like this on our own home court. Three home games and we've looked to same in each one in the first half... Out of sync.

The Fly 11-22-2010 07:46 PM

Obviously we're not defending the perimeter very well, but what is it about the Arena that brings out the best three-point shooting a buy-game can buy? Law of averages says you don't make 27-footers 60 percent of the time. Geez ...

SHQCKEY 11-22-2010 07:46 PM

Savannah State has successfully slowed the pace of this game to a crawl. We need to get some stops/turnovers then get out and run.

ManhattanFlyer 11-22-2010 07:47 PM

I only have ESPN up, not the live feed but... is UD just playing terribly?

flyerfanatic86 11-22-2010 07:48 PM

Wright was standing still for about 5 secs and that's a block. Is there an official in the NCAA that can consistently make the right call with a block/charge?

Glassman 11-22-2010 07:48 PM

Bucky seems to be summing it up... Not playing as well as expected.

jcubspoe 11-22-2010 07:50 PM

No flow to this game....a gazillion fouls have been called.

ManhattanFlyer 11-22-2010 07:50 PM

I see a lot of turnovers on GameTracker. Are these unforced?

C-time 11-22-2010 07:51 PM

Why are they cutting to a shot of the band!?!? There is a game going on!!!!!!

jcubspoe 11-22-2010 07:55 PM

sickening.

flyerfanatic86 11-22-2010 07:55 PM

A fitting end to the half.

Still can't defend the perimeter.

Glassman 11-22-2010 07:56 PM

Wonder how the halftime talk will go.

jcubspoe 11-22-2010 07:56 PM

For the life of me, I don't understand how teams shoot this well from three in our own house. And before anyone says it's our D, I would bet Sav St wouldn't hit this many threes in warmups.

C-time 11-22-2010 07:57 PM

Well this is embarrassing! We have to come ready to play every night and it is obvious that we did not tonight. Hopefully BG is causing the paint to peel off the walls of the locker room as I am typing this.

FlyerFanatic08 11-22-2010 07:57 PM

this is a joke....wow...better get their heads into the game.

SHQCKEY 11-22-2010 07:57 PM

A fitting end to an absolutely unacceptable half of basketball.

CoffeeCan 11-22-2010 07:58 PM

I am not worried. We are tough at home in non-conference play. They are shooting out of their minds and we are down 3? Not worried. Having said that, if we play like this during conference play, well, that is a different story.

Tony T 71 11-22-2010 07:58 PM

I said yesterday this was a "trap" game if ever there was one. BG needs to play his 7 best players again and forget about "resting" people because of the long week of games:worried::worried::pray::pray:

Manhattan - why are you watching this on Game Tracker. Go to the daytonflyers.com website click on Men's BB and then click on schedule and then click on video for the game. Watching it is so much better then Game Tracker.

Flyer1407 11-22-2010 07:59 PM

They seem like sloppy turnovers: travelling against the press, 5 second violation near midcourt, getting stripped going up for shots, etc. Dayton's playing an uninspired game right now; they look really rough.

I agree.....when they miss we are playing great defense and when they make we are playing bad defense. I know that ball pressures impacts the percentage, but some of these shots are just ridiculous....

426 Kiefaber 11-22-2010 07:59 PM

Pathetic effort so far. This team needs a serious ace chewing right about now. BG better do it.

Flyer1407 11-22-2010 08:00 PM

Savannah State is in the bottom 3rd of college basketball, trailing at half is reason for worry.

You've got that right. I've seen enough of Kav and Oliver for the night. Play the top 7 and Spearman. You can start playing everyone once we get ahead and have this game under control.

Flyer1407 11-22-2010 08:03 PM

Rush at halftime. Best part of the game thus far.

anthonycharles 11-22-2010 08:06 PM

Just logged on. We're down 3 at half? As Fred Williard's character in A Mighty Wind would say, "Wha' Happened?"

Sid Louick 11-22-2010 08:06 PM

The camera work on this "telecast" is absolutely comical. I can live with the end zone shot on free throws but that is it. We don't need to see students jumping up and down while ther ball is in play. We don't need the "scoreboard" to cover up the action and it doesn't need to be on for five seconds.

Is anybody in charge of this operation? What are they thinking? It really is embarrassing. I wonder if anyone in our athletic department has ever watched one of these "telecasts". I can't believe they would be proud of it.

San Diego Flyer 11-22-2010 08:09 PM

It seems like every team we brought in last season shot the lights out for about 25 minutes. I don't know what it is about the Arena, but they seem to love it.

Here's a 1-4 team, shooting 65% in ft's, and 34% from 3pt so far this year and they come in and shoot
100% and 58%. Give me a break!

They are due for a very cold spell.

Well, since you asked, I was in a meeting and thought the live feed might be a little more distracting than the ESPN Gametracker.

I wish I knew who was in charge of it because I think they should be forced to watch so they would know how bad it really is. The crowd shot during play is horrible, but the floor level shot during play is just as bad.

MikeF 11-22-2010 08:14 PM

Staten seems a bit out of control so far tonight. His decision making is off.

jcubspoe 11-22-2010 08:15 PM

Williams on fire!!

flyerfanatic86 11-22-2010 08:15 PM

PW carrying us on his back right now

ManhattanFlyer 11-22-2010 08:18 PM

Live shot of the band changing hats! I always wondered when they changed, it seems like every time I look over there they have new hats.

Flyer1407 11-22-2010 08:19 PM

I'm glad they showed the band putting on those ridiculous hats, hate when I miss that.

IAFlyer 11-22-2010 08:20 PM

Not looking good against a zone....

Flyer1407 11-22-2010 08:20 PM

CJ bringing the JUICE from the 'bus. GO FLYERS

MikeF 11-22-2010 08:23 PM

I love when you get the perfect camera angle to see a backdoor, alley oop develop. It is wonderful to watch.

frisco flyer 11-22-2010 08:23 PM

Looks like we are busting the zone much better on those last couple of possessions

ManhattanFlyer 11-22-2010 08:24 PM

In case we needed a reminder that we're playing Savannah State, they just failed to even get a shot off before the buzzer. Hard to watch.

ManhattanFlyer 11-22-2010 08:26 PM

Another reason we don't need a 4 or 5 defending 25 feet from the basket: blocking fouls on our bigs.

Edit: LOL, and on cue Benson gets a steal to shut me up.

426 Kiefaber 11-22-2010 08:26 PM

Yeah JB. Post #101.

Flyer1407 11-22-2010 08:27 PM

Benson is the most skilled big man since Mark Ashman, his ceiling is sky high. I think Parker likes to shoot more than Lowery did, which I thought would be impossible.

C-time 11-22-2010 08:28 PM

Staten needs to be locked in the arena to practice shooting FTs

MikeF 11-22-2010 08:29 PM

Not a good night thus far for Staten from the free throw line. He's maybe 2-7 or so.

San Diego Flyer 11-22-2010 08:29 PM

It would take a miracle for Juwan to be a good freethrow shooter with no arch on the shot. The staff must get him to put some air in the shot.

flyerfanatic86 11-22-2010 08:30 PM

Seems like it's been awhile since CW has done anything worthwhile. And I'm not talking about just this game.

Flyer1407 11-22-2010 08:30 PM

Apparently at Oak Hill no need to worry about practicing free throws.

Glassman 11-22-2010 08:31 PM

Why are we allowing Savannah State to stay in this game!?!?!?

Because we took them lightly and didn't come ready to play. This one is going down to the wire.

Sid Louick 11-22-2010 08:33 PM

Unfortunately, until Staten gets his foul shooting in order, I don't know haw BG can keep him in a close game in the last few minutes. His inability to shoot foul shots certainly is not going to go unnoticed by conference coaches.

Flyer1407 11-22-2010 08:33 PM

Time for the band to get this crowd into the game with basketball hats and the Rocky theme! CROWD IS INTO IT!

Juwan needs to watch film of Derek Fisher of the Lakers shoot FTs. He gets some serious air under his tosses.

Flyer1407 11-22-2010 08:35 PM

Last year the team may not have deserved to get boo'ed. Tonight? Yes.

IAFlyer 11-22-2010 08:35 PM

We need to control the boards, and we are not doing so...

MikeF 11-22-2010 08:35 PM

Such an uninspired performance: lacking effort, lacking consistency.

CoffeeCan 11-22-2010 08:36 PM

"Boy, I'll tell you what" - Bucky is in midseason form...

ManhattanFlyer 11-22-2010 08:37 PM

Back to all basketball hats for the band. TIME TO GET SERIOUS.

Tony T 71 11-22-2010 08:38 PM

A loss tonight would be hard to overcome on selection sunday. It would cancel anything the Miss game did for us.

Come on guys, play smart!

It would definitely be in the "bad loss" portion of the graphic. It's bad enough that the game is close, let alone Dayton trailing. Dayton really needs to show some urgency, some intensity. Right now they're consistently second to every ball.
