Playing well right now... Let's keep it up at home on Tuesday evening. We beat the Dukes by 8 in Pitt w/o Micah Mason in the 1st matchup... We are better team than we were at that time and they are too.

Game is at 7 PM on Tuesday Night

Contain Colter & Mason, easier said than done... Both scored 20+ in the loss at home vs. Davidson yesterday.

I always liked how Duquesne drew up their D. Way better than our version of it.

Colter and Mason are capable of turning into Ron Baker and Fred VanVleet. The guys better be ready because the Dukes are going to be looking to punch us in the mouth.......and they are capable.

We need to come out and play with great defensive intensity to send those two a message. I have seen those guys when they get on fire, and then the Dukes are a decent team. Shut them down and the Dukes are as bad as anybody in the league. Another game we should win by 25, but we will see.

Interesting. I always worry when the opposing coach lays on praise like this:

“I think they’re a top ten team right now the way they’re playing,” Ferry said. “They’re significantly better than the team they had two years ago that made that run because they do have the depth. They’re mature. They play so unselfishly and so fast. They are defending at such a high level right now.”

Per Larry in the pregame show, Damon Goodwin just stopped by the broadcast table. And he looked really good per Larry. Kick leukemia's butt, Damon!

So can you get a tell by how a team goes through warmups?

EDIT: Actually looked like the student section was pretty full on TV and there was no Mrs. Archie tweet so I guess they did show up.

No energy in warmups or the game

Bad start. Terrible execution on some easy shots. Just throwing the ball up there.

Anybody else watching this and feeling the need to mute it and put on Larry & Bucky. Mark Adams and his partner are a little too excitable and bordering on Dickie V annoyance level for me.

We just got hit in the mouth. Duquesne came out fired up. Thought the 3 would be our sore spot but so far it's been the transition D.

Very, very poor start...
1. Giving them the lane every time down the court
2. Kyle, put the darned ball off the board
3. Dyshawn, stop forcing shots
4. Kendall, we don't need you shooting from 18 feet
5. Scoochie, when you get hung up in the lane, kick it out!

These Duke guards are killing us.

The defense is non-existent. It's like they have never seen a ball screen before.

Micah Mason is on fire for the Dukes. 5 of 5 and 3 of 3 for 3s. Got to stop him.

Our dribble drive defense is not good so far. Too much penetration.

Stop Mason, go over the screens and make him beat Dayton on the dribble.

And Pollard picks up a dumb 2nd foul and will sit for the last 11 minutes of the half.

They are 4-5 on threes. We are 1-5

And there is Pierre's 2nd foul. This ain't good

Miller hits and finally we stop that 10 - 0 run.

We can't have Miller hedging at 35 feet. They are burning that hedge.

Boy, they are calling every cheap foul and letting the hammering underneath go without consequences.

Cooke is now guarding Mason and his height is giving him some problems.

First lead for UD at the end of the first half

Cooke is absolutely carrying UD right now on both ends of the court.

Miller time, and not Archie. Getting a look at Sam as a soph.

Good comeback considering we played with 4 players. Williams gave us nothing. Put in Sam with Steve.

And now Williams gave us less than nothing, as he lets his guy go for the dunk.

Tied at 35 but we came back from 12 down. Let's come out hard in the 2nd.

The two-point shots they are getting is all due to the inability to stop the front-cuts to the basket. X got schooled on that last play...all the fours and fives have gotten beat on those cuts.

They were shooting 67% at the 10 min mark. Once Cooke went on Mason, they went cold. The freshman gave up a lot of easy baskets in the last 5 min. Yes, even Miller did. We'll win this one easy.

Well all considered we're lucky to be tied at the half.

Have to play much better defense the 2nd half. Kyle Davis really needs to step up and guard Mason because Cooke is going to be completely gassed if he has to chase Mason the entire 2nd half.

The Davis's are non-existent tonight. Kyle got off to a bad start with some weak penetration and Daryl is just not into the flow of the game. He seems so timid.

Sam saved our bacon with 8 pts and 4 rebounds in 9 minutes. That kid has come a long way.

That half was, um, not inspiring. UD had so many issues throughout the half at both ends - slow start offensively with a bunch of missed layups and a sketchy start defensively with letting cutters go free or not fighting over screens - that I feel fortunate to be even.

I'm a little disappointed UD missed so many mismatches offensively. Adams is right: Duquesne is switching ball screens and our big man keeps getting a guard pinned in the paint.

Much better start to the second half. The ball movement is much better and they are much tighter on the ball screens.

Kendall Pollard is not the greatest ball handler, but I wonder when opponents will realize he's good enough that if you let him go 3/4 of the court without pressure he will simply go all the way to the rim.

There is the punch to the mouth, now give them the knockout.

I contend a lot of his early-season issues were related to conditioning. I saw him in the R&B game and he looked like a butterball.

Kyle only played 8 minutes because he went under 2 or 3 screens to let Mason get off to a hot start. So Archie simply benched him.

I picture some day spa music and water with lemons...

Kyle just went under again!! Pollard came out to help and Mason dished off to a guy for a layup. SMH

Pollard is a complete foul machine. How did he stay in all of those games last year?

Defensively we are completely at sea defending screens tonight.

Miller want's to play offense only...and only shooting 3's. He may have 8, but he's net negative.

Two fouls they missed on Pierre! Call them!

Wow, I don't bag on referees too much, but Pierre just got shafted on both ends.

We are switching too early instead of fighting through those ball screens...leaving open players with threes or open lanes for them.

I don't think these refs got the memo that UD is ranked and playing at home.

Refs are confusing me, which doesn't help when the team is not playing great.
