BEVERLY HILLS (MI) -- In anticipation of the Annual Bernadette McGlade Atlantic 10 Funfest to be held this weekend at PPG Paints Arena in Da ‘Burgh, now is a good time as any to ask ourselves the question:
What the heck do we know???
-- The Flyer letdown vs. GW kinda sucked, but it wasn’t totally unexpected, even to Archie. Conversely, the Red and Blue effort and the atmosphere of the VCU game was in a word
electric. Here’s video documentation:

I loved that Archie described the team’s attitude at Monday’s practice as “Cranky.”
-- VCU thinks just because their colors are black and gold and that they bought a few bus stop signs that they are gonna come in and take over the town? Guess again, Rammies. It will be a sea of red there this weekend.
-- Flyer fans can’t complain about the Atlantic 10 post-season awards that were handed out earlier today:

Archie COY; Scooch 1st Team; Charles 2nd Team; KP 3rd Team; KD 6th Man; CC and KD on the All-Defensive squad. Congrats to all!
-- Let’s win the A-10 Tourney first, but after that it wouldn’t it be sweet if
USA Today’s prognostication came true -- that UD is a Final Four sleeper team:

-- If you are a good Catholic boy or girl and in search for a decent fish sandwich on Friday after the game, you can’t beat the Original Oyster House in Market Square. Cash-only; zero atmosphere; great sandwich.

Sports Illustrated is preaching to the choir when he postulates that the NCAA should reward strong mid-majors rather than mediocre Power 5 conference teams:

-- Meanwhile,
Sports on Earth thinks that all of combatants in the First Four in Dayton should be Bubble Teams:

I'm sure the fans in Dayton who, ya know,
actually buy the tickets, would respectfully disagree.

CBS Sports was a tad premature with their list of Seven Cinderella teams ready to strike, as I don’t see Monmouth making the Big Dance after getting bounced from their conference tournament:

-- Here are the CBS and Turner announcer pairings for the upcoming NCAA tournament games:

There is another: Kostas has a younger brother Alex, who is a freshman in HS and is already turning heads:

-- One thing is for certain: it is gonna be a tough task for UMass, St. Joe, Duquesne or SLU to make it all the way to the Atlantic 10 Final on Sunday. Win five games in five days? I would say their win probability is less than the .003% that the Patriots had in the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl.

Looking forward to seeing everybody in Pittsburgh this weekend!
