This team is not going to the Elite 8, but agree similar starts to the season. I would be happy with the NIT, thrilled with the NCAA, but expect no NIT/NCAA.

I expect this season to full of incredible highs and unthinkable lows. Tonight is an example of the former. They'll frustrate the heck out of us from time to time, but I believe by the time the season is over, they will be a pleasant surprise.

This team needs to improve so much on Defense. It can be done and if it is, this team will surprise because offensively they have pure athletes with good basketball skills. I do think and hope that Pierce can play a bigger part in all this by conference time, we are certainly going to need him.

Agree. There are going to be a lot of growing pains this year. I’ll be really interested to see how the defense develops. A lot of playing good D is effort and discipline. Our defense was not up to snuff tonight. Their last bucket was inexcusable, everyone in the building knew who was going to take that shot and he gets an uncontested layup.
All that said, I think tonight will be way more valuable to our young team than beating a crappy team by 20. |

On ball D was okay most of the night... Help D was BAD. Great win. Gritty. Going to be a fun ride.

I thought our young guys played pretty good defense most of the night against some guys who could really dribble drive well and shoot with the best. Thank goodness Ball St had no inside presence on offense or defense.

I don't care what the score was, congratulations to Coach Grant and the Flyers on a hard fought victory! May this be the first of many victories for Coach Grant.

A difference, the 2013 win was on a defensive scramble, this win was on a coach's designed play.
