Go UD!

So their guards led the team in scoring.

Welcome to Dayton guys, we would like to introduce you to Kyle Davis!

UDFlyer23 11-16-2015 02:37 PM

Jeff Van Gundy will be doing our game tomorrow, not sure if he will be at the Arena or doing it remotely but either way I love it.

I thought Red Panda retired but UD is tweeting she's the halftime entertainment

KD is key. He needs to stay out of foul trouble tomorrow. It'll be tough to win if he plays like he did Friday. I think he's too good to have two bad games in a row, so I am predicting a big win.

I realize that writing these previews for a team that has only played one game could be kinda tricky but this guy was way off. Darrell Davis and Mikesell in the starting lineup? My feeling is that he just looked at the highest scorers and plugged them in the starting lineup.

Quote:

Cooke and Davis both showed good ability off of the bench and should both be major contributors for Dayton this year.
I am sure Kyle appreciates that he *should* be a major contributor this year. If he just applies himself and tries to stay within himself I am sure he can do it.

Medford 11-17-2015 09:33 AM

I liked the part about Archie doesn't like going deep into his rotation, based upon last season when he limited his rotation to just 7 guys for the post season. Hey nimrod, they only had 7 players, the year prior Archie went 11 deep on the way to the elite 8. Translation, you can't pigeon hole Archie, he'll adjust to what he has to work with.

He did the pregame from the floor. Agree with you.

funkymonkey15 11-17-2015 12:40 PM

Does anyone know if Larry and Bucky will be broadcasting the game on WHIO?

yes sir

31770 11-17-2015 01:06 PM

Sorry, i know this will be "controversial" but ingram has the best head of hair on the court!

udx2 11-17-2015 01:07 PM

Nice block by Pollard. That makes 3 so far for the Flyers in just over 3 minutes.

lhsgolf19 11-17-2015 01:09 PM

6-4 UD with 15:41 left in the 1st

Smitty10 11-17-2015 01:10 PM

Big Steve dominating on D while in game. I have a feeling that he's not going to be removed from starting lineup until he graduates.

jack72 11-17-2015 01:14 PM

Interesting Wehrli in ahead of Mikesell

lhsgolf19 11-17-2015 01:19 PM

16-11 UD with 11:22 left in the half

Smitty10 11-17-2015 01:20 PM

Baby D's got so much more to his game this year. He will be a game changer on O.

jack72 11-17-2015 01:20 PM

Those were two silly fouls on Pollard. He cannot do that to us. Bobby trying hard, but he is no Pollard.

udstevied_D87 11-17-2015 01:23 PM

really like steve's D presence in the middle. It's been AWHILE since we've had that

jack72 11-17-2015 01:26 PM

We are shooting very poorly. Lots of missed point blank shots, and 2-9 on wide open threes. 5-12 on two's

DGO67 11-17-2015 01:28 PM

A little out of sync on O, but the D is solid and should nurse the Flyers through any dry spells.

31770 11-17-2015 01:32 PM

Biggest flop ever!

lhsgolf19 11-17-2015 01:36 PM

30-22 UD with 3:30 left in the half

jack72 11-17-2015 01:37 PM

5 first half blocked shots. When was the last time? Probably back to Chris Wright, et al.

31770 11-17-2015 01:38 PM

Did the ncaa remove the rule of no time out while falling out of bounds?

DGO67 11-17-2015 01:38 PM

And to think that Big Steve will get better!!!

Viperstick 11-17-2015 01:39 PM

Steve is a beast!

jack72 11-17-2015 01:39 PM

Steve with 6 pts and 6 rebounds and two blocks in 13 minutes. He had more than two blocks.

jack72 11-17-2015 01:45 PM

10-10 on free throws

udstevied_D87 11-17-2015 01:47 PM

started 1-9 from threes, now 5-14

udx2 11-17-2015 01:47 PM

That was a fun first half, even if work required missing some of it. Impressed with Steve. He brings a new dynamic to the team that I love to see.

lhsgolf19 11-17-2015 01:48 PM

40-24 UD leads at the half... Cooke and Scooch with 10 each

DGO67 11-17-2015 01:49 PM

what happened to Funkymonkey?

Smitty10 11-17-2015 01:50 PM

great 1st half, even without Pollard. Freshman shooting FTs great. Cooke started off game like he played the first game, but came back off the bench and played great. Arch said we have to be patient with Big Steve, the way he's playing, being patient has never been so easy.

jack72 11-17-2015 02:01 PM

Wow this team looks great and no Pollard or Pierre. These Freshmen can play. Everyone, including me, thought it would be Crosby having the biggest impact and minutes. He has not sniffed the floor. Williams is a player. He just needs some weight and strength. Sam looks much better today.

rollo 11-17-2015 02:03 PM

The Big Steve I'm watching here isn't the same Slow Steve I saw this summer. I'm tempted to start calling him Skinny Steve.

or Swat!

jack72 11-17-2015 02:06 PM

Steve!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

lhsgolf19 11-17-2015 02:11 PM

49-29 with 15:45 left

cj 11-17-2015 02:17 PM

Just landed in Savannah and saw the score! WOW!

udx2 11-17-2015 02:17 PM

26 point lead. Warm up the bus!

lhsgolf19 11-17-2015 02:21 PM

59-34 with 11:54 left

Maybe, at least put the key in the ignition. 12 minutes to go and up 26.

ruechalgrin 11-17-2015 02:24 PM

If you would have told me 12 minutes left and Pollard is 0 for 3 and just a couple rebounds, I would guess we are down 10 points, not up 25!?!?!?

lhsgolf19 11-17-2015 02:31 PM

63-34 with 7:45 left

jack72 11-17-2015 02:33 PM

The flow of the offense is so much different than last year that Pollard has a problem getting into it. I hope he keeps his patience.

jack72 11-17-2015 02:35 PM

1st foul on Steve. That is awesome.

Smitty10 11-17-2015 02:36 PM

KP very frustrated today. His time will come soon.

udx2 11-17-2015 02:37 PM

30 point lead. Pollard is off today but this team is deep and others just filled that gap.

jack72 11-17-2015 02:39 PM

Steve with the double double 13 and 11. He is a frickin playa

31770 11-17-2015 02:40 PM

Hey Rollo, i know your nutz tingling Cooke's Kitchen, cause he's been cooking up stew!

Bill McPeek 11-17-2015 02:40 PM

I have to admit, I have a man crush on Kyle Davis. He IS a basketball player plain and simple

The winner of the Golden DNutz will be a little more difficult of a choice today!

lhsgolf19 11-17-2015 02:42 PM

68-36 with 3:58 to go

Let's start the voting now. I know we have Big Steve, Cooke, Scooch and the complimentary Kendall Pollard on the list

I like the law firm of Cooke, McElvene and Smith as a choice.

Wouldn't Smith's name come first, he's the founding partner.

udx2 11-17-2015 02:54 PM

UD 80 SEC team 48.

Smitty10 11-17-2015 02:54 PM

Nice little taste of what Crosby will bring to the program. I liked seeing that.

Bill McPeek 11-17-2015 02:54 PM

Put it in the books!

jack72 11-17-2015 02:55 PM

I like our chances against Iowa a whole lot better than I did a week ago.

jack72 11-17-2015 02:56 PM

Crosby got and read the memo from Archie!

udx2 11-17-2015 03:05 PM

Glad that our freshman are getting the opportunity to have some good minutes. This team is pure enjoyment to follow. Got to get back to work but this was a great break.

Suffocating defense at times today. Lots of contributors on offense. The only thing that tempers my excitement is the inexperience with Alabama. Their frosh/sophs just couldn't match ours today but they should be decent in 2 years. Wonder who wins a game between SEMO and 'bama this year.

I'd have to bet on 'bama, the Flyers played a much better game today.

Bama has 2 seniors and 4 juniors, and we have 1 and 4, but you are right, they cannot match our talent.

Well if they meet in the CBI, you're on. I hope Bama improves fast and gets to the big dance though.

FlyingArrow 11-17-2015 03:59 PM

I didn't watch the game, so who is our 3rd point guard? Scoochie and Crosby's minutes only add up to 33. Davis and Davis on the floor together? Who runs the point?

Today's blowout win was awesome to see for a couple different reasons that all go hand in hand with each other.

1.UD is proving that they are going to be a good team without Pierre if he decides not to play this year.
2. UD is proving that there are several players that are capable of producing and producing at a high level.
3. We can compete and be successful if a star player doesn't have his usual good to great game. (Pollard)
4. It seems to matter less and less who's on the floor as long as we can keep the same coach on the sideline. (Obviously we have great players but it doesn't seem to matter who's on the floor. They are all producing. I credit Archie and his coaching ability/attitude.)
