Was just making a comment! Didn't say I agreed with everything Lowd&ProUD said! Kyle, together with 3 other seniors last year, Devin Oliver the year before and several others were all program changers!
Big Steve would have been a program changer!

You and I share completely different views on how to define "program changer". Fair enough. I'm not here to try and sway your opinion on that.
But for my money, a guy isn't a program changer if he never even makes 3rd Team All Conference.
Please don't misinterpret that. I'd sign up a team full of Kyle Davis type guys all day long and be thrilled with it.
But let's recap your summary here...
You say you're only looking for program changers.
Kyle Davis qualifies as a program changer.
Dunn is still way below our cut-off because, by percentage in his first 2 seasons, he's not a great 3-point shooter.

I could deal with it if he was just a bad 3-point shooter, but he has a terrible shooting percentage in general. That is more my problem.

I'm not surprised by any guards not coming. We didn't seem to target any PG positions, and most of the other guys, well, we've already got Jordan Davis and Dwayne Cohill is coming in, plus Matos. We really need another PG and some bigs. Guessing they have some hope in getting Policelli to commit, maybe one other big, and a PG. Then probably focusing on the 2019 recruiting class, especially for PG. If they could snag Tre Mann or Kira Lewis Jr, would be a huge get.
Still, it's hard to know what's going on. If anyone has any inside info, they sure aren't leaking it, even on PP.

Cooke and Cunningham both committed in June so it could be a while before anything shakes out on the transfer front.
Crutcher and Obi were both May commits and the staff saw Jalen play around this time last year in an AAU event and got on their radar.
JUCO seems like the only one where most of the top options are drying up right now

Murray State's Byron Hawkins will graduate and transfer, per a source. Immediately eligible. Averaged 7.2 PPG.
Guy Archie looked at when he transferred out of Towson. Combo guard. James Kane was on staff during his redshirt year so he's got some familiarity

yep, agree. Can play off the ball too. Better use of scholarship on a guy with a lot of D1 experience for a year than a non top tier JUCO for 2. Especially with all the 19 PGs the staff is after

The "where do I sign thing" is definitely dripping with sarcasm, but you have a point there with your play on words. A guy who changes programs is a program changer. You can't really dispute that. It's not possible to transfer without changing programs. So if you are someone who does not want a transfer who "isn't a program changer" then your argument is at best poorly worded. It's like not liking the color blue because its blue.

Nothing wrong with aiming high but Hawkins only takes up a scholarship for a year. Unlikely all five scholarships are gonna be filled with high impact guys
Jordan Davis has never played point guard on the division 1 level before and is likely the starting shooting guard next year.
Cohill I think certainly could back up Crutcher but as it stands right now he's probably the 6th man or at the least playing major minutes off the bench for Davis/Landers if not starting.

What in the world is Siena doing? They don't have a coach. The kid wants out. Just release him if he's insistent that he wants out no matter who the new coach is going to eventually be. The restrictions are stupid.
Now, I get not releasing him to an intra-conference school, but they shouldn't have to stipulate that... if their league had an intra-conference transfer policy. The MAAC does not. But they should because it protects the schools from looking like the bad guy.
And Siena really looks like the bad guy here, particularly by blocking Albany and St. Bonaventure. It looks like they are just restricting schools that are reasonably close to the Toronto area or that have a bunch of guys from Toronto. Now, if there was tampering, okay then I guess, but it looks like they're just guessing where he would want to go, and blocking them out of spite.

Off-season workouts are underway for the Michigan men's basketball team, and Ibi Watson is already turning heads when it comes to metrics.
The 6-foot-5 sophomore wing apparently set a new team record in the vertical leap on Friday, jumping 44 1/2 inches to touch 12 feet, 1/2 inches, strength and conditioning coach Jon Sanderson tweeted out.
To help put this in perspective, the vertical jump record at the NBA Draft combine is 46 inches, set by Memphis' D.J. Stephens in 2013.

Watson is an elite athlete but from what I can tell is a TDB as a player in college. Being interesting to see if they'd take both him and Scott

I have not posted or read much on here lately but what reason would any legitimate grad transfer have for coming to Dayton? There is nothing to give them hope UD would get them to the NCAA tournament if they were coming from a one bid league. The only grad transfers that I feel would consider UD are guys who want to pad their stats and try to impress scouts for European teams.

That, in and of itself, is plenty of reason why a legit. grad transfer would want to come to either UD or any other good program where they can get substantial mpg with a chance to showcase themselves....These kids are 22-23 years of age and they're thinking about their future just like the kid who is an engineer....NCAA appearance is great but some of these kids have played in the NCAA tourney already.....
Far more grad transfers looking to beef their stats than the normal JUCO kid or transfer that still has 2-3 years of eligibility who envision playing in the tourney..

We still need a short term PG backup. I doubt the staff wants Cohill to play much time at PG, even if he is a combo guard. But, if that's what it comes down to, then so be it. Anything can happen but I find it difficult they bring in a Freshman PG with who they are targeting for 2019, unless they feel none of the 2019s will actually commit.

It sounded like they wanted to go the JUCO route with Wendell Mitchell and Gatling but the JUCO market has kinda dried up now for the top guys.
Agree on a freshman PG, it sounds like that ship sailed. Doesn't sound like their pursing Neftali Alvarez anymore
I think a grad transfer PG who's willing to play off the bench would be the best move. Serve as a bridge till a 19 PG gets onto campus. Matos and Cohill are presumably the only two guards on the bench and if they want to play 3-4 guard line ups that's not much depth
I'm starting to think they just give Cohill a bunch of minutes at PG and the other guards off the bench

Agree on a freshman PG, it sounds like that ship sailed. Doesn't sound like their pursing Neftali Alvarez anymore

As I've said before expect a lot of 35-40 minute games for Crutcher.

Is there a list of available grad transfer PGs who are still available? Frankly, all we need is someone competent to pick up some minutes, not someone who's going to come in and tear it up. If we got 10mpg from them, that would be huge. Seems like there may be some lower tier guys who might fit the bill.

Seton Hall's Philip Flory will transfer and be immediately eligible, per a source. 6-5 wing has three years of eligibility remaining
How is this possible?

I did a little research. His full name is Prince Kwabena Oduro and he was a member of the 2017 FIBA U19 World Cup Canadian team who finished in first place. The games were played July 1st to the 9th, 2017 in Egypt. R.J. Barrett, the 5 star Duke recruit led the team averaging 21.6 PPG. Italy finished 2nd and USA was 3rd.
In the 8 games Prince was 10-23 (43.5%) from the free throw line but in one of the games I noticed he was 6 for 7 (85.7%) so I think with him it might be more a lack of concentration rather than a flaw in his shooting form. Like someone said he may be able to improve during the year off! Like OSU Flyer said at 6'8" 253 lbs. the guy is a bruiser. He has legs like tree trunks like Chip Hare had when he played from 1991 to 1995.
After watching his you tube videos I can tell he likes to dunk the ball a lot and is comfortable playing inside or outside. We haven't had a bruiser to go toe to toe with other centers in the A-10 for a long time. He averaged 9.1 PPG and 5.1 rebounds at Siena and I think he would probably be worth taking a chance. With the shortage of big men on the transfer market he just may be a diamond in the rough!
After playing on the same team with R.J. Barrett and several other great players on that Canadian team he must have learned something and it seems like AG is trying to add a little extra positive influence to our younger players with each guy he recruits.
A bruiser in practice next year will only make our taller players like Obi Toppin and Frankie Policelli be more ready for the rigors of the season!

I hope he visits the University of Dayton the 3rd week in May because we need someone with his size and potential. The list of big men we have recruited and did not improve for four years and used up a valuable scholarship could go on and on!

I have watched the video on Mr. Oduro. He has naturally quick feet for a big bodied guy. He is listed at 6’8”. Is he really?

Prince passes the look test. Give him a redshirt year and he'll look like a tight end
