It's the offseason and there aren't enough rumors flying around. (Can't somebody just make something up - it's getting boring around here.)

So let's have an important discussion (raised by Smitty in another thread, but it's important enough for a separate thread). How are we going to refer to John Crosby (if he returns), Josh Cunningham, and Jalen Crutcher?

Append uniform numbers (e.g. JC0 for Josh Cunningham)?
Append a half-last name (e.g. JCro, JCun, JCrutch)?
Just use last names all the time (somehow I don't see everyone on the board typing out Cunningham every single time)?
Something else?

I've been struggling in the Crutcher thread because I keep wanting to call him JC. Just been using his name.

My vote is for JC#. And a memo to AG to recruit guys with different initials.

Add S, J or F:

S = Senior = Cunnigham => JCS
J = Junior = Crosby => JCJ
F = Freshman = Crutcher => JCF

Ha. I like that you are thinking out of the box, but short-sighted.

The following year, when Crosby is a Senior and Crutcher is a sophomore...they both move to JCS (which is what we just got used to calling Cunningham for a whole year).

Mass confusion ensues. Planes crash. Disease spreads and before you know it the zombies have taken over. :whiteflag:

Cunningham = REB
Crutch = AST
Crosby = TO

You could also just call them by the names that their respective mothers gave them.

Yeah, that one would set bad precedent if we get another player with the initials KA in the next 4 years.

Only MOMS get to call their kids by their proper name....everyone knows that....yeesh.

Sorry didn't mean to be a buzzkill. Sometimes the obvious solution is the best one.

I propose we do as they do in tactical aviation--give them callsigns.

The upside for us fans is they'd have to bribe for a good call sign, and naming parties are a lot of fun.

I guess John, Josh, and Jalen are as short as any other proposed solutions. And the names are unique on the team. But that's a pretty boring solution. Come on - I started this thread because it's already boring around here without enough rumors flying around.
