Cotie was just offered by Louisville. Gonna be tough to keep her home. But at some point we need to keep a Rolls Royce recruit local. The last 20 years have not been kind to us. Whiffed on Tamika Williams, Allison Bales, Megan Duffy, Brandie Hoskins, etc.
The girls prep basketball is so good around here, we need to protect our turf.

Louisville may be good but we beat them not once but twice by 16 pts last two times we've played. One was sweet 16 so we're no chopped liver.

UD did keep Ally Mallott "home" and that was within the last 20 years.

I've reffed a number of her games and let's just say that early growers typically dominate junior high games. She's good, but HS will expose her weaknesses. FWIW, Maddie Westbeld (at Fairmont) would eat her for lunch at the same age. Just my 2-shillings...

It is Dayton Belmont. there was talk of him transferring to a MI school, not sure if he did. Played for a while on Chris Wright's AAU team.

Interesting. The 24/7 Sports listing of him at #39 indicates he is from Belmont in Ypsilanti, MI.

Watching her on the videos, she looks like a premier recruit. Long arms and great D, like Austria. Can shoot the three. Marquette has offered.

Maybe I'm just not keeping up, but it seems like there's not a lot of size coming to UD in the next couple of recruit classes.

OSU is rarely going to get beaten for the best players in the state. Who's the last player we outrecruited them for? Raterman? Daugherty?

Kyla Oldacre, 6'6" C out of Mason, OH
Couldn't find an 'offer' tweet but seems she has Dayton in her latest list of schools -- and since the Dayton logo is first on the photo that obviously means they are at the top of that list!! :)

I hope you are right. Kyla is #26 in the nation and has offers from everybody.

You never get nibbles and bites if you dont cast your reel in the pond. Fit is much more important in WBB than MBB because the money and opportunities to make a lucrative career in Pro WBB are not nearly the same.
DaRon Holmes doesnt get to Dayton without a staff willing to fight for him to the very end.

Possible opportunity?
This is probably not the best forum for my comments...but here goes.
As everyone knows UConn has attracted the Country's top players for many years, ~ 20 years at least. Some recruiting years come up pretty dry even for UConns since other top programs go after the same players.
But once in a while the reverse is true...a recruiting bonanza. This is one of those years, and at an unprecedented level even for UConn. The 2021-2022 version of the Huskies has a dozen really good players. If the team was split into two groups two Top 25 teams would result. That is not an exaggeration.
It's great for a kid to be recruited by UConn...a heady experience. Unmatched facilities, exceptional media attention, luxurious accommodations....unmatched and nothing but the very best.
Those things matter. But in a year like this with a dozen kids competing for minutes, and next year's class already touted as outstanding, after sitting on the bench for a year or more the gloss wears off and it becomes clear that what's really important is playing basketball. And at UConn for a few of these outstanding players they're isn't going to be much playing in four years.
Bottom line: Three or four really good players are going to transfer out of UConn in the next two years or so. If the past is a guide UConn tranfers don't wind up at Stanford, Baylor or South Carolina. Rather, they step down where they have a better chance of actually playing basketball. And they succeed.
That provides an opportunity for the Dayton's of the world. Jim Jabor was very close to Auriemma. My guess is that Shauna barely knows him. If so, too bad because transferring players rely on Geno's advice. But, this is an ongoing process and it's never too late to make connections. Further, Auriemma is very open to relationships with up and coming coaches and their programs.
Back to UConn's current over abundance of talent. To my surprise the "outflow" as already begun....sooner than I anticipated Today a heralded recruit who arrived just last January after finishing HS early announced that she's transferring. By next year at this time that number will grow as new standouts join what will be ten or so returning from this season's group.
UConn recruits none but the best...and most want to play more than anything. Seems to me that following such developments could be beneficial for Coach Green. Transfers from UConn will be starters wherever they wind up....that's what they discover matters most....and the best opportunities often are found at developing programs a step or two down from the top tier.
Just opinion.

It's my impression that the UD "staff" follows UD Pride forums. And we are certain that Chris does and is very well connected to the UD people that matter.
Anything he reads that is worth passing along to the right party will be.

Can someone update if we have signed anyone but Kam'ren Rhodes, 5-6 PG, from AZ?
How many schollies do we have open? I am counting 11 players for next year with Rhodes, and if Whitehead comes back.

Saw some video, she can handle the ball and has a bit of what Cook had this past year.
Looks like a good get!
