Strange that there is no mention of why there is a one year break going back to DC.

ACC will be back there for a year. I was concerned that the Big10 was going to grab it for a year too. They had played in MSG but had to move their tourney up a week because of Big East. I guess they have given up on playing in NY.

Wikipedia lists the ACC being in Brooklyn in 2022. Announced by ACC in September of 2018. ACC future Tournament sites

It was dumb anyway
It never made any sense for the B10 to play in NY anyway.
Hello Indy, Detroit, Cleveland, Columbus, Cincy, Pittsburgh, etc. New York is not a Big Ten market, never has been, never will be. I would play it in Toledo or Fort Wayne before I would NY.

Jim Delaney thinks the B10 can rule the world. However now, it looks like they are content to alternate between Chicago and Indy for the foreseeable future. Makes sense for their fan bases.

NYC is not representative of the majority of the A10 or their fans. While I have a good time there, I would much rather see it at another site off of the coast...every year.

I attended many of the A-10T at Atlantic City. Still one of my favorite venues, ocean, boardwalk, that odd but fun AC vibe, not a bad old arena which was about the right size for the league. Hotels steps away from the venue, and I'm not a gambler but people watched.

Got to be kidding. I needed a penicillin shot just after walking back to the hotel on that boardwalk from the casino.
I do agree though...it doesn't need to be played in a 20k seat arena with the top curtained off and 12 dollar beers. If they want a neutral site, pick one that is a 12-15k seat venue and do their thing. NYC is just a pain in the ass.

I’d be curious how much money the league is losing renting out these NBA venues

Got to think...the place is packed with local Brooklyn kids on Wednesday and Thursday for games because of the lack of ticket sales. Place is pretty empty with paid fans. The city is too expensive for the causal A10 school fan to decide to go for the entire time. You do see a ton of people roll in at the last minute, such as VCU, if they make it to Saturday or Sunday. I I talked to a bunch of VCU fans in 2015 and many of them simply drove in the day of the game and drove home. When you have it at a place like Pittsburg or Dayton, people travel for the entire tournament, or at least 3 days plus of it.
