Easily our toughest home game to date... This team can absolutely fill it up plus they have one of the premier scorers in the nation.

Start of a heck of a 2 game week in Iona and USC.

we need to see if we can create something with Scott, Jalen, Kavs and Gavs. This is a time to establish some "downlow" game.

Gonna be interesting game. Will they zone us? And can they?

Flyers look very good early... Up 14-8 with 15:15 left in the half

Iona plays little defense. So far they have played zero.

I like the energy the Flyers are playing with. We are KILLING them on the boards.

What is up with the empty seats at tipoff? It looks like it has filled up now, but for a second I thought I was watching a Miami Heat game with all the empty seats in the lower bowl at tipoff. Disappointing.

Weekday night at 7 and people coming from work. Same thing yesterday at the Dean Dome for the first 10 minutses.

I like the way our guys are playing, but Iona's defense is WEAK.

Who is this Pierre kid and where has he been?

This is what we wanted to see against Iona. 15 point lead.

Hope that this is the Pierre we will see the rest of the year.

They are shooting 58% and our defense is darn good. Up on rebounds 15 to 8

Are we going to break 100 tonight?

Iona is a perfect example of trying to be too cute on defense. They keep switching everything up, which is great if you can play defense, but they don't seem to play the 1-2-2, 2-3 or man to man very well. Why not learn one defense and play that well, then go from there. Just a thought.

They're a good offensive team, but I want to see our defensive play be a little bit better. You know they're shooters, so get up on them. I saw Pollard, Oliver and Sibert all give their guys too much space.

Again, I love the overall effort.

We missed our last 4 freethrows and only at 58%. Shooting 54% to their 57%. They have hit 5 of 9 threes to our 4 of 11. We are now only up on rebounds 19 to 13. We have turned it over 5 times and none were due to their defense.

Our defense has gone to crap. Good timeout by Archie.

Sibert was pulled for falling asleep on the defensive side of the floor. I like it that Archie has the ability to do this with this year's team. It needs to be done. If you're not going to play defense, you're not going to play.

Up 67 to 49, but with 13 to go I won't feel comfortable.

MK is buried on the bench.

68-52 UD with 11:20 left in the game... Pierre with 15 & 11 so far

Archie better be careful with this lineup. They look very unsteady. Buy the A Team a few minutes of rest and get them back in there.

Gavs came in a few minute ago as did Pollard. I think Pollard played briefly in the early part of the 1st half.

Sibert is still on the bench after poor defensive play. Not sure if we'll see him again the rest of the game. Archie is trying to prove a point.

Pierre is a BEAST tonight! We need this guy more.

We are now outshooting Iona 56% to 51%.

Wow. I just saw Pierre's stat line. I had no idea. Just thought he was showing a bit of hustle tonight.

Cracks me up, guy hits an open 3 and we are up by 22, and Archie calls a timeout to yell at the D. Great contrast to Gregory who would rarely call timeout. I love Archie.

96 to 84. Normally, we would be looking at a loss when the other team scores 84. Frankly, I believe that Iona is a decent team and could do well in its league.

Glad to see Pierre have a very good game and hope that this is what we are going to see for the rest of the season.

22 assists and 40 rebounds. 55% shooting and 40% on threes. Our only chink was free throws at 64%

Sophomore Dyshawn Pierre
 

shows up big time with former NBA coach Stan Van Gundy providing the analysis. Let me be the first to say Mr. Pierre is headed for an NBA career. He had a GREAT game at the right time.

Pierre has potential but is light-years from the NBA...let's not turn him into Josh Benson unless he earns it. For now, let's hope he works on his consistency.
