The real season starts on Friday! The Era of Anthony Grant begins as well... We have a heck of a test to open up against one of the better mid-major teams and one of the favorites in the MAC... Our young team full of questions must bring their A game to come out with a victory.

Game is at 7 PM and will be shown on Spectrum Sports.

Potential Starting Lineup:

G 0 Francis Kiapway 6’3” 190 SR Hamilton, ONT
G 2 Tayler Persons 6’3” 220 JR Kokomo, IN
G 34 Sean Sellers 6’6” 216 SR Greensburg, IN
F 14 Kyle Mallers 6’7” 220 SO Ft. Wayne, IN
F 25 Tahjai Teague 6’8” 222 SO Indianapolis, IN

They have one of the better duos we will face this year in Tayler Persons and 6'9" JR Trey Moses, who reportedly is battling a hamstring injury and will be limited or might not even play on Friday (He isn't playing tonight in their exhibition game)

Persons, one the MAC preseason favorites for POY, when for 15.5 pts 4 reb 5 ast a night last year... Moses went for 13.4 pts 6.4 reb a night last year

Last night Ball State was without one of its top players, Trey Moses, but coach James Whitford told me he expects him to play vs. Dayton.

When I was at UD, I had a friend who went to Testicle Tech, er, I mean Ball State. We went to Muncie one weekend - The Ball State gym was essentially a large High School gym (pull out bleachers).

Later that Spring, we had our friend come to Dayton (we got him into the arena for a game). It turns out that game was Dayton vs DePaul when Ed Young hit the game winner at the buzzer.

Needless to say - he had more fun in Dayton than we had in Muncie..

The kid is the real deal. Great shooter and scorer. A four star. Could use some weight but he has two years.

Why is UD always failing with digital media?

Not sure this is a UD thing - there isn't even a volume control on the video - I don't think the A10 plans on providing sound...

Per Larry & Bucky during pregame it's a migraine. He also had stomach trouble earlier in the week.

Go over to WHIO.com and listen to the live radio. It will be about 20 seconds or so off, but you can pause the video stream to sync the audio and video.

Crutcher and J. Davis seem to playing with more confidence than most freshman I've seen here in recent years.

That 30 foot shot with 1 second on the shot clock, ugh. 3 points can make a difference in a game like this. Makes that 5/100 times max. Ball State's two made 3s have been desperation shots from 25-30 feet.

They have 5 offensive rebounds and Dayton has 1. Gotta work on this.

We are shooting 52%, they are half of that at 26%

He's certainly slowed down his pace and waiting for when he can use that burst of speed. It's great to know he has it in him to play a good PG, he now has to stay within himself and we'll be fine.

They are missing 3s left and right and gettin*some of the long rebounds. I don’t think this is as bad a stat as it sounds.

So far we are playing pretty well on both sides of the ball. All the surprises so far have been to the upside. The freshmen need to log time, but otherwise I like what I’m seeing from the team.

It's easy to see that this team looks totally different with Trey Landers on the court. He's going to be so important to us this season and on.

The last few minutes were not good but we never trailed and are still up.

all I know is we have like a billion dollar upgrade to the arena but still cant get freaking audio. can't even enjoy the game from Texas. Should have kept my season tickets and flown back and forth...lol

Still no sound and no stats either.

Rebounds even, only 4 turnovers and outshooting them by 12 percentage points. Not much not to like, except they throw up a bunch of threes and make some to keep it close.

Just go to WHIO radio for the audio. You will have to slow down the video a bit to match up.

understand the poor video and audio but many of us on this message board recall what it was like years ago and are grateful for the ability to follow our Flyers even with these issues
