I am very skeptical that this would work.
I think major league sports teams would lose a ton of money under such an arraignment.
I bet only about 10% of cable and satellite customers would pay extra for sports. Right now, the 90% of non-sports customers are subsidizing the 10% that would pay more to watch sports.
Bars would be more popular for sports though, as bars would pay for sports on tv.
