Plus they could really become legends in their hometowns by taking Dayton on another tourney run. So it all looks good on paper, but it looks like it has almost no chance of happening unfortunately.

Alstork has a visit set for Pitt on May 5, and per a tweet from a Michigan beat reporter yesterday, he is looking at Michigan, Louisville, Georgetown, South Carolina and Illinois. He transferred once already (Ball State to Wright State) to play in his hometown, and there has been zero indication from anyone that he would consider another year (but this time under the brightest lights) in Dayton.

As for Simmons, it seems there has at least been some communication between his camp and Dayton's in recent weeks. Years ago when Simmons transferred from Houston to Ohio, there were reports that Simmons wanted Dayton, but the interest wasn't mutual then. Now, it may be a case that Dayton wants Simmons, but Simmons isn't all that interested in UD. I have seen some rumblings that Michigan and Ohio State both covet him. Perhaps Michigan will pull off the Alstork/Simmons combo?

While Alstork and others are doing plenty of talking about their plans, Simmons has said virtually nothing. It's really very hard to say how much communication is happening between Simmons and anyone as there is a lot of uncertainty regarding Jaaron's release. Has he asked for one? Does he have it already? Some Ohio U fans seem to think he has it. Some seem to think he doesn't have the release yet. He hasn't publicly announced anything, and neither has the school, but they don't have to announce anything and sometimes don't.
Cough cough
