If you have not been to the
Richmond arena, it is top shelf. My third trip there, and I have to say the best place I have seen a basketball game. No bad seats, as it holds only 7,200 which are laid out equally around the court. They have very comfortable seats and space. The four humongous TV screens are overkill for that place, but very clear and nice. The acoustics are amazing. They spent the money to line the ceiling with acoustic tiles. My wife said at one point, who is that I hear talking all the time, as we were by ourselves in the last row opposite the scorer's table. It was the coaches and players on the bench. My hearing is below average and I could hear Grant barking instructions 50 yards away. The music blasts you out of your seat, but no distortion or echo. A clean and beautiful facility.
Two criticisms are no stats except scoring and fouls, and poor parking. It would be a great place to play the A10 Men's Tourney, but like the A10 Women they would probably play in the bigger, less nice downtown arena.
