Do we really think that after 22 years coaching college basketball (1993 to 2015), that two years in the NBA (2015 to 2017) caused Anthony Grant to forget the previous 22 years?
Do we really think Anthony Solomon and Ricardo Greer do not understand how to teach seeing the floor, passing to the interior, etc.?
I have no idea whether AG will be successful at UD, but we are 13 games into his tenure. The play thus far has been very disappointing, but I am pretty confident the coaching staff understands basic college basketball coaching.
As a point of reference, AG's teams averaged #49 nationally in defense over his 9 years of college coaching whereas AM's team averaged #78 nationally in defense over his 6 years. I have no worries at all about Dayton's defense; AG will have Dayton as a consistent top 50 defense team in a couple years.
