He got beat on rebounds a number of times by not locating his guy and boxing-out. Relied too much on altheltic ability on rebounds and not enough on technique -- works in high school but not in college as a smaller guard.
To be clear, really impressive overall. Archie will teach him help defense and proper defensive rebounding. Agree more upside than Crosby, but Archie values defense and Crosby with 2 years in system is light years ahead of Wright with Archie's defensive principles. Hence, my prediction is Crosby starts. According to Archie, Crosby one of the best defensive rebounding guards he has had. Wright could end up starting, but it is hard to figure out Archie's defense in a couple months, his modified pack-line is pretty nuanced even with little things like how to jump out as weak side defender when the player you are guarding receives the ball at the 3 point line. I understand takes a lot of time and reps to figure it out as a 1st year player.
Again, really impressive, but it is a big jump from high school to college. Scoochie did not start playing more minutes than Khari Price until the end of the 2013-2014 season.
