Seems to me Miller was hard after 5 recruits and got 5 commits. When he left he thought that we had zero chance of getting any of those 5. Anthony eventually convinced 3 of those to stay with UD.

That's at least an A- in my book, especially when you look at the unorthodox recruiting path for Matej. When viewing the distance and complexity Svoboda presented, Anthony likely put the recruiting assets where he thought they would yield the best results.

What if we had put a full court press on Matej, and he was the only one we retained. How would that sit with everyone?
