Pretty sure Dayton measures with shoes.
Chris Wright was listed at 6-8 here but was measured 6-7 1/2 in the NBA without shoes. Still, the NBA listed him at 6-8. Since they play in shoes (good for anywhere from half an inch to an inch) it makes sense to me to measure players that way.
There isn’t as much height-hyping as people seem to believe. It’s actually more prevalent with short guards (not bigs) that come up short of six-feet.
Jerry Matos was listed at 6-7 in junior college but is on Dayton’s roster at 6-6. Frankie Policelli is now listed at 6-7, not 6-8. That tells me Anthony Grant doesn’t inflate the numbers.
