Not really. Tate played three years at Missouri and was on Missouri's staff the last year.....after having been on the sidelines at Mineral Area College for like a decade or something, with a bunch of success.
Hiring Tate maybe gave
SLU the inside track on this guy, but it wasn't like he said "Hey, I will hire your Dad or mentor to the staff if you come here." Tate is plenty qualified.
