This thought just occurred to me: if KA doesn’t value a college education, to the point that he dropped out before the semester was over, it’s now easy to see why he had problems qualifying academically coming out of high school. He may well have not seen the value in a high school education, either.
And while he may be able to succeed just fine playing overseas without an education, I’m reminded of 2 sayings from my youth:

Agree with all of this ^ and add this thought: The one thing KA
has - that other physically talented players don't have in a similar "potential NBA talent career" - is a big brother with a $100 million dollar contract. If KA has a career ending injury next year... no degree... he likely can live off his brother the rest of his life. Not a bad insurance policy. And I'm sure his brother told him that.
