Some of my other favorites include

Stono Ferry ($50ish) has great views of the intercostal on the back nine. This is the home course of the College.

Charleston National ($70ish) was built through a marsh and has some really pretty holes.

Wild Dunes Harbor Course($80-100). They have two courses out here but I like Harbor the best for it's views.

The only courses that aren't a 40+ minute drive from downtown are Patriots Point and Shadowmoss. I like Patriots ($80ish) but I think it is pricey for what it is, but I guess that's what you get for being close to downtown. I think Shadowmoss ($40ish)is a good course for the price but theres no spectacular scenery like the others. There is also the Muni but I couldn't recommend it.
I would love to play Kiawah, but with those prices x 2 golfers for 3 or 4 days, no thanks. The others you mentioned are just what I am looking for. Many hidden gems out there if you talk to the locals, that do not have the big name recognition, but are kept in just as nice of shape with just as nice of scenery for a fraction of the price. Heck, I played Pebble a few years back, and it was in the worse condition of any of the courses I played that week in the Monteray area. When no tournament in town for 6 months, they do not keep them as pristine as you see on TV. THANKS for the list, already printed it out to save for next season!
