When the head coach is out of schollies but shows up along with his two assistants to a game to see you play, he's made it clear he's not done recruiting and is telling you there's room if you want it. We can all speculate on how and why that room might become available and there are a myriad of possibilities -- most of them on the up and up.
But you're not wasting your entire coaching staff's Saturday afternoon late in the regular season, when your existing team is going down the stretch in crunch time, to watch a kid in your back yard for the umpteenth time, without any available scholarship to give him, just to make sure he's still interested in you if on the 1% chance a schollie opens up and you can slide him in.
A million things could happen. Someone could leave. Someone could choose not to take a fifth year. Someone could not qualify academically. Almost every team has attrition every season. Its the rule not the exception.
