After being an nba assistant he can honestly tell a recruit that he knows what it takes to be in the nba and be successful in the nba. Playing for him and doing what he says should increase your chances of being drafted. This is important to the level of players we need to recruit.
You also have to give a thumbs up to someone who basically says "we have been successful but baby you ain't seen nothing yet"
I would think he will attempt to keep at least some of the current assistants
