Probably our best game of the year overall. LC lighting it up early opened up a working margin. We sort of managed the game from that point on. Burdette was a leader and Layfield played well.
Thought our bigs did a very good job of hedging on the ball screens and then recovering without getting burned. It was pretty obvious that our week off gave us time to really work on defense and perfect the game plan. The good coaching shows.
Downside - no points from our bench other than a Szabo banked trey in garbage time. Harris continues to have trouble making layups. Ward slow and out of control.
I agree with the post above - should have been an intentional foul at the end of the first half. The only folks that thought differently were the zebras. Not particularly impressed with the officiating.
GMU on Wednesday at the arena is a monster trap game. Their record is as good as
Fordham's. Their top player - Butler - leads the country in rebounding. Enjoy the A-10 title today. Forget about it tomorrow and get ready for GMU.
Never gets old watching our Flyers cut down the nets.
