While they are not getting an NBA team, it is the home of the Cyclones. Also, just look at their event schedule. US Bank arena is jammed packed with events year round. They make a good amount of money off of constantly hosting events. Even when the Cyclones are in season, they are hosting events when they are on the road.

I guess that is the point! If "they", whom I assuming is the ownership group for US bank Arena, is making a good amount of money, then let them make the investment for any return.
It just doesn't make sense to have taxpayers foot the bill for an arena that will house a minor league hockey team as it's anchor tenant. Not when the city has two major league teams. It might make sense in a town like Dayton that will never get a major league team and is/was looking to engineer revitalization in a specific area of Downtown.
Way too many wealthy people have their hands out asking for the rest of us to finance their risks--with none of the reward other than wearing a hometown jersey.
