No upsets last night, but some closer calls than the experts predicted:
G'town by 10 over Coppin St
South Carolina by 3 over SC State
Providence by 1 over Rider
Wednesday Nov 9:
Nothing all too interesting tonight
Davidson @ Wright State may be the game of the night nationwide. I don't know much about WSU this year, but love their coach, should be a good test for the change in coaches at Davidson.
Interesting sub note: WSU transfer Grant Basile put up 30 & 10 in his debut for VTech while Tanner Holden came off the bench for Ohio State and was perfect from the field for 12 points in 18 minutes. Part of me wonders how much, if any NIL played a role in their decisions to transfer, but gotta be tough for schools like WSU to consistently build winners if their best players will up and transfer after a season or 2 for a better NIL deal. We heard how Holmes said there were bigger schools that used back door channels to try and sway him to transfer from UD with promises of NIL money. Culture is going to be a huge deal moving forward for so many basketball programs.
