Wow do we have a problem. The biggest issue is our defense. They ae shredding us. They have made almost as many shots as we have taken

If Xavier plays like this every night they will be national champs...they aren't this good and we aren't this bad. Just one of those nights.

Pollard is really the only one who showed up, and even he has had some mental lapses. Scoochie and Cooke dont seem engaged, and the freshmen look like freshmen.

Take a seat, Asshat. Good thing the stripes missed you shoving Sammy in the back on that tip-dunk. And then a helluva bit of acting by Macura on that faux charge.

Still no second chance points. Big Steve fouls out with zero points, a turnover, and he was outrebounded by Myles Davis.

Agreed, however it will haunt all year long and be viewed by the selection committee come March unless the rest of the regular season and A10 can overcome it.

This one stings, folks. Now, we'll have to hear all the bull$#!+ from X fans about how we're such a low-level, "mid-major" program. We can't even do their laundry. And, based on this game alone, they're right.

How? We lost to a team that will be in the top 10 if they continue to play like this. This loss, regardless of by how many points, 3 1/2 months before selections Sunday will not "haunt" us.

Agree 100%. This outcome is exactly the reason why I didn't want to play X. The downside was just too much. Our freshman played like freshman. Heck, our juniors played like freshman. I live in Cinci and work with tons of X fans and now I have to live with this basically forever. The one game we really needed the team to at lease give a good showing they spit the bit. X is good. Really good. But we aren't this bad. Very poor showing. Feel bad for the team too because they just didn't have it from the tip and you could see it. And X hits everything. X is so helter skelter. They showed the same last year. Games they looked like they could beat Golden State and then the next like they could lose to the Washington Generals. Today they were on but we were more off than they were on. Oh well, we are going to get better but this still stings.......really bad.

Like many of you, I watched all the x games this tourney. They are for real and a good team. Lots more for us to play this year. This one is painful and I am stunned, but this loss, no matter how much it hurts, won't define the season. We have more OOC games and the A10 season ahead.

Clayton, Purple, I think the truth lies somewhere in between. The NCAA Selection Committee won't care if we lost by 5 or by 35. In their minds, it was a decisive loss to a probable top 5 Seed, on a neutral court. Where this loss will haunt is with our fan base, who will have to listen to that "little brother" crap from those arrogant *******s down on "Victory" Parkway until we get another chance to kick their asses, and actually do it. Until then, it'll be more "Jimmy Carter" and "U Dump", and all that other kind of horse$#!+. That's the lasting "taste" from this crow-feast. And it won't go away any time soon.
But Archie was right. We weren't ready to play a team that good. Hopefully, our True Team responds positively to this *****-slapping.

CJ2etc, you have my sympathy. Fortunately, I work in Englewood, and my co-workers are generally tOSU football fans, so there's never a chance to get grief there. I can only hope that X loses its 1st Round matchup in March, and that we make it to the Sweet 16, so you can tell those co-workers, "I guess you peaked in November."

This is a good X team, no question about it. Is UD this bad? I don't think so but today they were. They picked a bad time to come out flat. I was really thinking UD would be the one to come out in the second half and make a run but apparently not today. X is a physical team and I thought they manhandled to the point of fouling and pretty much got away with it. I don't think it was called evenly but that's another story.
The question in my mind is this: Is Pierre waiting to see what the record is on December 20th to make up his mind to play this season, play next season or go somewhere else? Hopefully the Flyers are something like 8-2 or 9-1 to sway him coming back as I do think he takes this team to the next level.
Time will tell I suppose.

2 offensive rebounds, lots of fouls, little defensive effort, tire legs, lack of effort, turnovers, poor three point shooting... what's not to like? Plenty. Archie will make them learn from this. See you in March X.

Dayton is 5-1 and potentially 3-1 versus top 50 RPI teams (last year UD was 1-3 for the entire season).

Couldn't believe some of combinations Archie had out there.
Miller looked pathetic. DD not far behind. Maybe the boys went out last night. Tired and not engaged?

This squad just got a lesson in extended road contests against great competition. This was a great experience that will repeat itself in the A10 Tournament. Three tough road games in 3/4 days (if we get a first round bye) is not something that happens every month. Honestly, it is exactly what we needed for half of a squad that is really inexperienced. We looked totally gassed, mentally and physically.
Arch won't have much trouble getting their attention in practice this week.
If anyone missed the camera closeup of Sam's face in the closing minutes, it was priceless. He had a look of, "Where am I, and what just happened!".
