I'm fine to get OT more floor time anyways. I agree, if there is any doubt in Josh's health, leave him out.

Take no chances particularly with one of our weaker opponents. That said, I am looking for to seeing the Josh and Obi show this year.

On the postgame show, Hartsock (filling in for Bedell) and Nate Green said it’d be likely to see him next Friday, to give him a chance to knock this cobwebs off before heading South.

What's so "private" about saying JC sprained his wrist during practice?
Bone breaks, sprains, torn ACLs, concussions, etc. are routinely offered to explain why a starter is on the bench. If the Flyer's policy is to keep all medical data private, they have violated their policy on numerous occasions.
Anyway, I hope his boo boo goes away fast.

UD has always been tight lipped about reporting Injuires. I know that players have often played in the past while not disclosing an injury.
What do you want reporters do? Request a grand jury?

Why should UD disclose any injury info ever to the fans, as such info could help the opponent prepare for a game too. If Directional State University knows our 7' post player is out and that our All American shooting guard has a sprained wrist, is still playing, but can not hit 3 pointers it changes the way they prepare for the game and could cost us the W. Keep them guessing, and us all *****ing

Detwon still has some work to do in the classroom before he can be part of the team. Also, the deep bone bruise is not responding to treatment.

Read above! Ask, ask around. How did it happen? There are no state secrets being given away— everyone knows he’s not playing! What’s the diagnosis, prognosis. This is further emblematic of the highly limited and rank amateur reporting that the program suffers from, very little insight, just superficial obvious pap.

I would hope at least to hear from some fellow student who can say if he can hold a pencil in class or something. I didn't see a cast on the bench, but is it a wrist or a finger or a hand or a sprain or a break or a hangnail or what? They don't need to answer, but at least somebody should ask.
Whatever it is, it will be fantastic to get him back healthy to add to the great start this team has going. Somebody just ask the questions is all I ask.
And by the way, great news on Frankie - he's not some loser headcase, (which is the kind of thing silence implies,) but he's going to get a chance to beef up and gain skills on top of his already strong base.
Hope the powers that be realize that zero information is more harmful than giving a small bit of insight. You don't have to give up your whole hand, just throw us fans a bone to keep us from going off the deep end.

Josh hurt his wrist while changing a tire for a friend. A shiny dark tinted black SUV pulled up, and two men in black suits began having a discussion with his friend. He could not hear all of what was being said, but something about waiting for the right time to announce to the public that Ancient Aliens have returned, to help save civilization from itself, and...
<a knock on the door interrupts what Steverino was writing> huh@! who's that knocking at this hour... 2 men in black suits at my door, and one looks like Will Smith.. hang on peeps
Will Smith: "are you Steverino015?"
me: "that's what I call myself on websites, but really..."
Will Smith: "were you just writing about Ancient Aliens being revealed to the world?"
me: "yes, but that was just a joke. anyone ever tell you, you look like Will Smith?"
<a bright light suddenly engulfs the entire house.. Steven says bye and walks back to the computer>

I'm no reporter but I'm 99.9% sure everyone within 5,000 yards of the locker room knows exactly what happened to Josh's hand, the treatment plan, and the prognosis. They're just not telling. Why? Maybe a little professional courtesy goes a long way between media and public figures? How quaint.

Yeah, exactly.
Look, when I posted what I innocently intended to just be an observation that we, the adoring fans of UD, have no right or entitlement to know the details of a player's health, I sort of thought people would just be like,"oh, yeah, that's really none of my business." But instead the opposite occurred. I am not making any comment on UD's policy, (although since they aren't the ones who get to make decisions regarding disclosure of health care information, I hope their policy is "defer to the player/employee/student). Just responding to someone calling out a reporter who gets and gives a ton of inside scoop because he hasn't been able to circumvent HIPPA to let us know the details of a sprained wrist.
If you are someone who values privacy, and I fancy myself someone who does, you should care about other people's privacy too and not just your own. Frankly, knowing that it is none of your business, I think it is tacky to ask the question. What possible difference could it make in the life of anyone on this board, how, why, when, etc... Josh got hurt.
God Bless America and the Flyers.

From David Jablonski in today's DDN: "Dayton played its second straight game without redshirt senior forward Josh Cunningham, who remained sidelined with an injured hand. He suffered the injury Tuesday in practice but could return Friday against Purdue Fort Wayne. 'He's making progress,' Grant said. 'I'm hopeful by our next game he should be ready to go.'"

“We like having Josh available,” Grant said, “but you cant control injuries. Next-man up mentality. We were a little short-handed. We had a couple of guys cramping over the course of the two games because of the extra load of minutes we had to play guys, but we got a chance to see some different combinations on the floor. We had a chance to look at some different lineups..."

I fully expect Josh to play on Friday but will probably come off the bench in the 1st game... Then get put back in the starting lineup in the Bahamas

I have watched Butlers two games. LOl they are junkyard dogs and we will need Josh big time to beat them. We can beat them, they actually are a good matchup. Grant could use the bigs all together at times with Josh/Ryan/Obi. Butlers strengths are a very tough defense and there guards can score. A couple of bigs that can pound it but we can handle them. More concerned, are we tough enough to handle there defensive pressure and continue to move the ball. The passes wont come as easy against this group. With a win things stay the same against the Cavs but they have better players. Butler will hit us in the mouth early.... Can this team take it?

Dayton Daily news article above has two other interviews, one by Trey Landers and the other by Dwayne Cohill. I really liked what Cohill had to say about playing defense. He said he will do whatever the team needs! He was a scorer in high school and he says he can still do that if he feels he can beat his man off the dribble but he added if a teammate is more open he will feed the ball off! This kid has a maturity beyond his years and I will be excited to see him develop and get better and better over his career at Dayton. He made a turn around shot from the elbow in the Coppin State game that was amazing because I haven't seen a UD freshman make that kind of move in a great while!
