First Four distances?

Noticed that not a single First Four team is within 400 miles of Dayton. Two teams from California, two from North Carolina, one each from Rhode Island, Kansas, Louisiana, and Maryland.

Will this be the worst attended First Four in history by opposing teams? I don't even know that any of these teams have a huge national following that will come in from the area... USC is probably the closest. Unlike what we have seen in the past from some combination of nearby teams and/or national names.

2013 probably comes closest to matching this slate. I mean, I'll still be there, but will be interesting to see what kind of crowds come in for this.

After Dayton, they travel to Buffalo, Tulsa, and Sacramento.
Buffalo isn't bad, but why not Indianapolis? NC Central and UC Davis winner goes to Tulsa? Why not give it a 50/50 chance and go to Greenville. At least if NC Central were to win they could have something close.
Or maybe match up Mt. St. Marys with NC Central to keep the winner east of the Mississippi?
I get the bit about matching up with #1 and #2 overall, but is it really that big a deal that they can't keep those smaller schools closer to home?
