'52 Flyer - Clete Oberst (my father)

Dear Flyer Faithful - Yesterday we laid to rest my father, Clete Oberst, UD Flyer, Class of '52. He was truly a Flyer to the end. This link has a foreward and several articles written about Clete through the years. I thought his stories should be told once more. If you have a few minutes, you can get to know him a bit better as a Flyer, and as a man.

The most sincere thanks to you Chris - from the entire Oberst family, and that is a whole lot of people!

Peace...

So very sorry for your loss, Jeff. Your dad was a true gentleman, a true servant, and a true Flyer in every way that it's possible to be one. I had not known previously about the Notre Dame/Four Horsemen connection. What a rich athletic history in your family which continued with your brother Dave and then you. The only family in UD HISTORY to have 3 different varsity letter winners in 3 different sports! Wow!! Thanks for that foreword. I know it must have been hard to write in your time of grief. God bless!

Thanks so much Pat. I learned things from your interview years ago that I didn't know before. Peace...
