You can tell that Mikesell gave his rehab 100% effort, not all injured players do. Hearing that he could do nothing for four months is a credit to this kid's devotion and toughness.
I remember last Fall when we took in the Charleston Tourney. We met Ryan on the street leading a group of other players around. You could tell that even though he could not play, he was a team leader. Ryan was friendly and gracious as we greeted him. He is a credit to his parents and UD.

Mikesell is going to be a big cog in the wheel this year. Not only does he look like Jim Paxson to my brother and I, he's starting to play like him.

He is from Mercer County, Ohio...God's country! Truly one of the finest venues on earth.

Makes sense that he played hurt as a soph-he was nothing like it seemed he could be as a freshman. Great game Saturday. Hopefully, it is just a sign of what he can be this year.

Looks just like Jim Paxson, facially, in that picture in the article...

This sums up Ryan's current contributions, excellent.
"Not only is Mikesell back to having fun on the court, but he's also having his best season. No. 33 is averaging 9.8 points and 4.9 rebounds while shooting 56 percent from the field and 42 percent from long distance."

Great to read this but the article said Mikesell’s 18 points was his best night. Didn’t he have 21 in his first game as a Flyer?

Yes. Had 21 against SE Missouri. Hit 5/7 threes.

I think about the possibilities of Mikesell's sophomore season. What if Big Steve hadn't passed away, what if Cunningham hadn't gotten injured in the pre conference season, what if Mikesell was a contributor off the bench...
