Richmond Game Thread
Gotta shake off the effects of the loss on Tuesday Night... Have a big game against one of the conference's better teams.
Game is at 7 PM on Saturday Night at the Arena.
Starting Lineup:
G 0 Kendall Anthony 5’8” 150 SR Jackson, TN
G 5 Trey Davis 6’5” 215 JR Richmond, VA
F 11 Deion Taylor 6’7” 210 JR New Orleans, LA
F 15 Terry Allen 6’8” 240 JR Houston, TX
F 10 T.J. Cline 6’9” 235 RS SO Plano, TX
Looks like they play 7 guys like us... Also 5'10" ShawnDre' Jones & 6'9" Alonzo Nelson-Ododa.
Let's get it done boys and start a new winning streak! Go UD!

Devin Oliver posted this video . His family will be at the game.

After seeing the tweet from Devin, posted by DNutz this morning, I think this will be shown on the big screens before the game.

Looks like CBS bracketologist Jerry Palm will be in the Arena tonight, according to his Tweet:
On my way to a weekend of live hoops, @VCUathleticBand cranked up. At @XUAthletics, @DaytonFlyers Saturday, @ButlerMBB Sunday

This is a biggie.
Tonight....a must-win. Then a win at UMass would put us at a teriffic 7-2 at the midway A10 point, assuming we beat FU at home....6-3 would not be at all bad considering.,,,,but 6-3 would likely follow a three game skid. Not a confidence builder. That's why a win tonight is so important, in my opinion.
Go Flyers!
(I have a close friend who was an ND grad. Once (when he was in his 40s) he told me that he knew he was maturing when he could get over an Irish FB loss in just a few days....rather than a week. Sadly, when it comes to the Flyers I have never reached my friend's level of maturity.)

We Flyer fans would not define that as maturity. We would say that is jumping off the bandwagon and/or not a true Dayton fan. The losses never stop hurting and the wins always feel sweet.

Agree with your thought about building confidence, however we would actually be 8-1 in your scenario.

And I was really good at math. Maybe I meant, we beat UR tonight...and then even a loss at UMass puts us at 7-2, assuming we beat FU.
Do you suppose that's what I meant? It's the only thing that makes sense to me.
We just can't lose three in a row. With UMass on the road....tonight is a must.

I guess it is too much to ask for Jordan to not be referred to as Jordan "the transfer from Ohio State" Sibert, eh?

Foul was on Schoochie, not Sibert. They got it wrong and gave 2nd to Sibert. Hope it is corrected! Could be huge ref mistake.

Really good half. Is it just me or does Richmond not run the Princeton offense anymore? I thought UD would see Davidson, take 2 with lots of back cuts and screens. There have been a few but not to the extent I recall seeing.

I agree. It is like their coach decided he could pound the ball inside, and isolate his big guys. Huge mistake so far. They must not have watched the Davidson film.

I think the quickness of the Flyers has them stifled. The screens are being fought through or switched so quickly that it is just seamless.

Personally, I think he needs to take more time at the line. He seems to rush through a foul shot when there is no reason to do so.

We need to get to the bucket more by spreading out the offense. Pollard needs to take his man out of the paint.

We need to get open looks for DD. Gotta be inside out. They are doing a good job defending the perimeter

Our problem is inability to score. Just chucking too many quick. 3s.

Davidson and Richmond basically dear the refs to call it as it occurs on every single posession.
But we cannot go last 2 possessions without getting a shot.

Sibert is very lethargic on offense with or without the ball. He has no energy. I wish someone would set a screen for him.
