Staten and Payne win national title!
No details...but Juwan Staten and Adreian Payne's All Ohio Red team won the AAU under 16 national championship this afternoon. Red trounced legendary program The New York Gauchos 85 to 61. AOR has now won the National Showcase title last week and the national championship this week. Many are touting AOR as one of the best AAU age group teams ever. Not only is it great to have a player the calibre of Staten who runs the team at point...but if we get Payne you have two local kids that are among the very best talents in the country...and they know how to win championships.

4 players on that team are ranked in the Top 75 of the Class of 2010 by Rivals, and Juwan and Adreian are 2 of them

Congrats to both. Let's hope they can repeat a championship in a few years at the college level, but they still have more high school and AAU hoops to play before that.

Like always, the attack for All Ohio is balanced and hard to stop. Jared Sullinger and Juwan Staten both scored 19 points in the 85-61 victory.
...
Staten continues to look like the biggest steal of the 2010 commitments. The energetic and fast on fast point guard more than held his own against the Gauchos, a team known for point guards and physical defensive basketball. Staten made the tone of the game his and didn't look back.
