CBS college sports network

I haven't watched this network much recently but it looks like CBS is putting some money into it. Ad campaigns, an hd option, and right now they're playing every game from last year's tourney back to back for days on end. Right now that great game between davidson n Kansas is on. Curry is just sick.

So I'm hoping it means we'll actually be able to see a10 games and more cable companies picking up the former cstv.

CSTV has alot of potential -- if it actually starts showing games it has rights to show. For the past two years, the CSTV national feed has had 4-5 games on PER WEEK. It then sells the remainder of its games for a profit to local broadcasters and RSNs.

CSTV is on most big cable systems already -- although relegated to the digital tier, which requires a set top box.

I've said this before, and I'll say it again. If you are a college sports fan, dump cable as fast as you can and sign up for DirecTV with the sports pack. You'll be able to watch just about every game out there on all of the RSNs (except a few SEC games and, if you are outside the Dayton DMA, you won't get to watch the CSTV games carried locally by WHIO).

IF you have HD, DirecTV even better. You'll get most of the RSNs in HD. ESPNU-HD is launching on Aug. 28th. DirecTV will carry it at launch. Judging from how fast TWC has added channels in the past, you might actually get it a year or two from now. Who knows when TWC will carry CSTV-HD.

Good input BigRed. I have been getting antsy over every aspect, including the escalating price, of my all-TWC household including phone, internet and TV. Service stinks and when the house modem goes out I can't even call them to report it (as if they would answer anyway).

its good to see that a major network will be taking over CSTV, by themselves they werent going anywhere and the quality of their broadcasts were well below par. With CBS taking over, the quality and quantity of broadcasts should improve and we should hopefully see more games in the spotlight as CBS could take them national if it is worthy. Also the marketing and promotional efforts are much improved and more credible with CBS's name infront of it.
