Hopefully, the guy I voted for, X, has emerged as a force on the front line. I thought he played well. He hit some key buckets and did not turn the ball over.

Good games by Kyle (finally), Sam and X, but this team lives and dies by Scoochie and and Charles. Both showed up tonight. Flipped a coin and Scoochie won.

While Charles & Scoochie are the main horses, they need some support. I went with Kyle. We need that kind of game from our starting senior to fill in for the personnel shortages we're enduring.

Nice to See
XW emerging as a potential star. He is relaxing and allowing his talent to display well. He has the ability to become UD's leading rebounder.

This might be a great reason we should all relax when evaluating younger inexperienced players who don't get many minutes. It's got to be so much less stressful for them knowing they will have many chances than just a few. It's a mental thing to feel you have to show what you have in such a short amount of opportunities.
Once the minutes are guaranteed, they can let the game come to them. I will try not to evaluate players that have not had the chance to get lots of minutes so harshly from now on. Even Mikesell's FT shooting has started improving.

lol, I'm certainly not the worst offender and usually am the one telling others to be more patient. I certainly have with Baby D and for the most part with all these Sophomores back when they were freshman. I just didn't see the athleticism and strength to carry on when Scooch, Cooke, Pollard and KD all graduate. I'm backing off of that now. I see hope.

i gave it to Kyle, but easily could have given to Scooch. When he's out we aren't as confident or good.
Ball movement is crisper and more creative.

yeah, while he did suck on defense two of the games i saw..... he's more confident and developing a 10 to 15 foot quick release jumper. love that shot.
Plus the longer range 22 footer for 3. These are all he needs for more playing time. 10-14 points a game, and solid minutes. Somebody has to replace scoring from Josh and KP.
It's the rebounding we need to really find a way. Others have mentioned... big guards crashing the boards..... needs to happen.

Xwilliams baby!
Rollo, Baby D is on the college hoops rubber room watch list. He may never make it back to a poll following a win...just saying.

Scoochie had a great game, but I expect that from him...X had another unexpected double-digit scoring game, which is why he earned the Royal vote. Until Sam Miller hits the boards, he'll never get even a sniff of THE Royal endorsement.

That is because the player has evolved the last 10 days. There is an immense amount of intensity out here in these Wooden games. Guys are growing up quickly. Sam is progressing. We need Crosby to do the same. Kyle showing up was huge. DD's role is defense, rebounding, and disrupting the opponent's ball movement as well. Hopefully we will live to see his name on the voting list.
