Boise State (NCAA 1st Round) Game Thread
Screw Job... Use it as motivation and go out and shock (say F You) to the NCAA. Make the Dungeon shake! Make this game make the URI game look like child's play!
We play in 2nd game on Wednesday on Tru TV
Starting Lineup:
G 2 Derrick Marks 6’3” 210 SR Chicago, IL
G 12 Igor Hadziomerovic 6’4” 214 SR Melbourne, Australia
G 15 Chandler Hutchinson 6’7” 190 FR Mission Viejo, CA
F 13 Nick Duncan 6’8” 245 SO Sydney, Australia
F 23 James Webb III 6’9” 202 RS SO Augusta, GA
Derrick Marks is their best player, averages over 19 PPG... Meet Kyle Davis!
I Believe! Go UD!

Get motivated Flyers! Boise State appears to be more of an offensive than defensive team. They have three almost seven footers, who play very little. Good overall size, which as we know means little. Hope we come psyched and ramp it up like we did against RI.

Webb and Hutchison weigh 190 and 202.
That's toast to Pollard and Pierre. Stopping Marks and 3s are the KEY.

We just HAVE to win tonight. I can live with a loss in C-Bus, but they HAVE to win tonight. The scalpers on stub hub prices are dropping like a stone so I bought myself a ticket and I 'm heading over there and taking my A mojo game with me. Go flyers!

Don't think I have ever been this nervous for a flyer game...hopefully they put me to ease early! IF they make shots and defend the three, I think they will be in good shape.Ready to get the game started! Go Flyers!

Like how we are defending the three, looks like the refs are going to be calling everything tonight. Already 3 on Dayton with 2 on KD.

They are playing physical and working hard to get us in foul trouble. We need to adjust or we won't have enough players to finish the game.

Boise state can't hit a shot, worries me cus we all know they will start hitting eventually. Up 6 and need to build this lead. Don't let what happened in the first half of VCU happen again

Be nice if DD could hit a **** open shot. We are going to need someone to step up with sibert on the bench.
And please no more threes from Kyle Davis. It's like a turnover.

Daryl needs to get a lot stronger between now and next year. At this point the offensive player is eating his shorts.

The Davis boys have killed us this half. Has either one made an outside shot in March??

I think you need to put Sibert back in the game. We need an offensive spark.

We need to try to get this to about 8 down at half. 2 of the 3 games so far have been big comebacks in 2nd half. We need to pick our D and start hitting shots and we can be the 3rd team to comeback in the 2nd half.

Right now we can either cut the lead to 5 or 6 and go into half feeling not too terrible or we can say screw it and let them build a 15 point lead.

Can't put JS back in yet. The other guys have to buck up and through this half.

Scoochie needs to penetrate more. We look like a perimeter offense at this time when we need to get into the paint.

Come on guys, we don't want Kyle taking that last second shot. He is in a horrendous shooting funk.

Cannot believe the freshman shot that early. Huge mistake. Good thing it didn't come back and bite us.

Sibert on the bench. Missed 13 of our last 16.
Got some work to do in the second half.

We missed 13 of our last 16 shots -- only down 9 is a blessing. We gotta start hitting shots and we can win this. Will help to get Kyle and JS back on the floor.

Baby D. Seems like all the misses are messing with his head. Gotta get over it. Don't think - just shoot.

Archie better light a fire under them at half....what scares me is Boise didn't have a great half either....I am really angry with that **** poor s*** show first half. Jordan Sibert has to get in and hit shots, defend the three a little better, need to just hit something or anything....not sure what to expect this half they have just been so inconsistant

Horrible half. Fouls were brutal and clearly without 24, our offense is not good enough. Need KP to keep stepping up and DD to come at least close to making a shot. SS and DP need to give us something, too. Just need KD's defense on 2. I think we're better than this team, but foul trouble on JS totally killed us. Not deep enough to shrug that off.

Everyone of them is off to the right (front of the rim). Needs to pull his shooting elbow in just a little - square it up -- and those all start falling.

Well the NCAA has done a good job of "neutralizing" Dayton's "home advantage." They made sure to take Sibert out (lol- I can't remember the last time a team's top player picked up his third foul with 8 minutes left in the FIRST half) and the Arena doesn't sound any more like a home court than any other NCAA tournament site where one team has more fans in attendance...

TruTV interviewer: "Coach Rice, your run coincided with Jordan Sibert going out of the game with three fouls."
Ya think?

The key is to figure out a way to get the ball inside against the zone. DP is playing on the perimeter instead of in the lane where he can catch the ball and bust the zone. Hopefully Arch will make needed adjustments at the half and Sibert will give us a lift offensively.

You are right, Baby D is a head case. True shooters keep firing and make one eventually. He is back where he was after that hot streak, hesitant and tense. Ice water in the veins, he has boiling blood.

Well, at least sibert will be back to start the second half and Pierre can get back down low where he belongs..gotta be the lowest scoring half at home for the year, right?
Just a bad combination of things. Our best defender picks up 2 fouls in the first 2 minutes. Our best player picks up 3 fouls, our freshman sharp shooter is shooting blanks, and they have a guy avg 3 PPG bury 3 threes in the 1st half.
Can anything else go wrong?

Wow. Could not have been much worse. Fouls, our shooting, our defense last 8 min, offense clueless, cannot penetrate or hit perimeter.
2nd half needs to be a new game.
