Who is the UDPride 2016-17 Men's BBall MVP?
FWIW, tallying up all the votes cast for Golden ________ Awards decided after every game, it appears the UDPriders heavily favor Scoochie for team MVP.
To date, Scoochie has won 3 Golden Awards and has a total of 256 votes for all 15 wins.
Believe it or not, XWilliams is 2nd! He has 3 Golden Awards and 196 votes.
KDavis is 3rd with 3 Golden Awards and 189 votes.
Cooke has 1 Golden Award and 184 votes.
After that, it's Pollard (2 Goldens, 138 votes), Mikesell (1, 105), Crosby (0, 95.5), DDavis (1, 60.5), SMiller (0, 15), Cunningham (0, 10) and Landers (0, 3).
(this poll is 100% unscientific and was not influenced by the Russians, Chinese or Musketeers so far as the Royal NSA can detect)

Since when do you vote for the MVP in anything with over 1/3 of the season left to be played?

This is just an update of where things stand based on post game Golden Awards. At the end of the season I'll re-tally the votes...I just thought it was interesting that XW was getting so many votes as opposed to Cooke and that Scoochie was so far ahead of everyone. Nothing more...nothing less.

Im not sure you can extrapolate a team MVP from these polls. If charles scores 15 we will never vote for a specific game, but with others we certaily would. I also think XW benefits from the improvement he has made from the beginning of the season. his growth is eye opening. That said, not surprising Scoochie is in the lead either. he is clearly the MVP so far this season in my mind, and if he's not at the end ofthe season, we may be disappointed in the results....

I'm not sure it correlates either. Prime example is the night DD won. He simply won because he surpassed what was expected of him but not sure he really had the best game on the team that night.

Just call it weekly "seeding update" that is used for football final 4 and that is now going to be used for March Madness to further line the pockets of CBS.

I ignored them...considered subtracting those votes from each player but tried not to make this complicated so the slower of the UDP'ers could still understand...and looking at some of the confused posts, I obviously failed to simplify it enough.
Such is the day in the life of The King.

Game by game can be anyone, but which person would you say "oh s*** we're screwed" if we lost him for the year?
1. Miller (that's Archie, not Sam)
2. Smith
3. Cooke

Gotta be Scoochie. Can you imagine where we'd be with Crosby running the show? We'd be no better than 500.

It's not fraud it's the fact that he has performed better than most on this board assumed he would or could. But it doesn't mean he was the best player in that game.

Scoochie, and it's not even close. Sir Kendall Pollard can be replaced with the sentimental XW ...Cooke will be replaced by Cunningham ...Scoochie's replacement is either Crosby or a freshman... ! I wish he had another year here.

Scoochie will be a name spoken on this board 50 years from now......atleast if im still on it. Scoochie is the Foundation for the incredible run these guys have been on for 4 years. Vee.Jordan,DMO,Dyshawn,Kendall,Kyle etc. all played a role. But there was one locomotive pulling the train, and it was Scooch

Scooch gets the gold
I don't think we have someone who could replace Cooke next year unless MW turns out to be immediately awesome. Josh Cunningham is a different animal than Cooke, and will be good in his own shell.
Still in all Scooch is my choice for MVP.

We are in for a different animal next year altogether. X and Mikesell both have very good upside and we know Cunningham can ball, but he came from Bradley with an injury to recover from and now is out again, so can he stay healthy. It will really be riding on how well Crosby can transition over to the floor general. If he can't get consistent, it will be a very interesting transition.
Will miss this bunch.

Cooke is the best player, Smith the most valuable. This is where MLB gets it wrong. MVP is viewed as best as long as you are on a good team.

SS is my most valuable, but not because he is irreplaceable, but because he makes the team happen. By the logic of some's replacement theory, they would say if Brian Roberts were backing up SS, then SS should get little consideration.

First post in over 6 months...got a new job and couldn't remember my password. Have been following the thread though.
I don't think this is a silly question, as some have alluded. At this point though, MVP is undoubtedly Scooch. Where we'd be without him is a scary proposition. That may have as much to do with the lack of a true backup but still, he makes us go. KD, KP, and CC are right there for second, but we've proven we can win games - at least to lesser teams - without each of them individually.

Let's not forget that phantom foul at VCU with 4 minutes to go in the first half. We would have won that game otherwise. You can't tell me any differently.
