"Top 10 Coaches for Next 10 Years": Guess who?

A couple of names we're all familiar with appear in this Forbes article on the top 10 NCAA basketball coaches for the next 10 years. Love it!

Yet there are people on this site that think he was a poor choice. Go figure.

I know it is Forbes and not SI, but better to be on the list instead of not.

As a pure basketball fan, I think some of the brightest young minds in College basketball are Bryce Drew, Tony Bennett, and Chris Collins. I know Tony Bennett's name gets crushed by Virginia fans but he can coach. Like Arch these guys get the most out of their talent. All are young.

Hope it's not the SI cover jinx. Last year's list had Crean, Matta, Smart and Ollie.

Love the quality fact checking from Forbes. How does Andy Enfield come before Mick Cronin alphabetically?

My only issue with this list, is why drop guys like Few, Sean Miller, Gregg Marshall, Jay Wright & Bill Self off of last season's list (unless they are now over 55) Obviously drop Crean, perhaps Matta or even Shaka from last season's list, add 3 new names, then name the other coaches in an "under consideration section". From a UD perspective, its another teed-bit that you can throw into a recruiting pitch/mailer that may grab a recruits attention for a second or two, so it can't hurt, but coming up with a new whole list while using the same criteria as last season just seems like click bait.

I see USA Today graded the coaching hires so far this year. Had AM to IU an "A", and AG to UD a "B". Doesn't mean a whole heck of a lot, but the IU hire is seen as very good. AG's hire seen as a good fit and should at least maintain our status. hopefully our status can be improved

Many people judge Anthony only based upon his two previous college jobs. I think he is now a much better coach than he was at Alabama and he has said that himself. Coaching some of the best players in the world and coaching against some of the best players/coaches in the world should have a profound affect.

He has a passion for UD basketball that we probably haven't seen since Don Donoher. I know that BG loved dayton and didn't want to leave but I think Anthony takes that to another level.

I am curious whether he will run a motion offense similar to Archie's or if he might run more of a pro style offense depending upon great point guard play similar to what the thunder does with westbrook.. Obviously you need to have that tremendous point guard on the roster to run a similar offense where the point guard creates most of the offense but is very willing to share the ball.

If you have never watched westbrook play check him out some time when the thunder are playing, he plays with a passion that is tough to match

Archie will be making $4 million per year at IU, including next year, if he meets his incentives.

His base compensation is the 8th highest in college basketball.

Sheesh, that is tough to compete with.

http://www.cbssports.com/college-bas...college-hoops/:

Just revealed: Indiana's Archie Miller one of highest-paid coaches in college hoops

Archie Miller's no-brainer decision to leave Dayton and coach Indiana has made him one of the highest paid coaches in college sports.

Miller's new contract, which is for seven years, will pay him a minimum of $24 million over the course of the deal. The Indianapolis Star filed a Freedom of Information Act request with IU and has revealed details of Miller's deal. Despite being a public university, Indiana did not reveal the specifics of Miller's contract when he was hired in March.

The deal, if some contract incentives are met, will make Miller the highest paid state employee in Indiana, surpassing Purdue football coach Jeff Brohm. Miller will make an average of $3.35 million per year, according to the Star, and there are a lot of opportunities for Miller to clear the $4 million mark in a given year.

In terms of his base compensation from the school, Miller now is the eighth-highest paid coach in college basketball if you go by these figures released by USA Today earlier in 2017.
