ISA down 38-23 at the half... Mike has been really good, 10 points 2 blocks... His passing is exceptional for someone who is 6'8"
Quick Reminder, they are playing the #2 Team in America, Link Academy... So great showing so far

Flyer fans are going to love Mongolian Mike. Very impressed with his handles, court vision, passing, and athleticism. Also, showing a good jump shot against exceptional competition. The Link team is loaded with 4 and 5 star players.

Based upon the comments in this section, I did a little research on Link Academy in Branson Missouri (Camp Kanakuk). Apparently, this school is a basketball factory. They have three (3) basketball teams. Does a kid really need to go to such a school in order to get noticed to be recruited at the highest level in division 1 basketball? Why doesn’t Dayton recruit primarily from these basketball academies? Dayton has recruited a few. There was an interesting comment on one of the web sites. The web site said, “… the student athlete culture (in high school) is particularly memorable. The opportunity to represent your community and student body while competing along friends in a sport you love is a huge part of what makes the experience of high school sports so valuable and memorable. This experience is lost upon athletes who attend these basketball factories.
I looked at the Link Academy web site and on 24/7. Most of these players look like they are 23 or 24 years old. They don’t look like high school kids. On their schedule, their top team of three has been crushing the high schools teams that they have been playing.

Well in the last cycle we got Holmes who was at Montverde before going back to Compass Prep. Lynn Greer was at IMG Academy. All 3 of these places like Link. ISA is trying to get to that level, and we got Mike from there. We are recruiting at these type of places.

I have never been to Flyin to the Hoop. Do the games sell out? Do you need to buy a ticket beforehand, or can you just show up and get in?

“Mongolian Mike” Sharavjamts finishes with 19/4/3/3/2 here in the win. Tremendous all-around game with scoring, speed, intelligence, and instincts.
Criminally underrated nationally, in my opinion. @DaytonMBB getting a killer next year.

All good. Sounds multiple talented.
Nickname was or is cute for a hot second. Do or should we be calling him Mongolian Mike? Honest question. Unless it's a real handle or what friends refer him as... I doubt analysts will be using this phrase.

Here is how I addressed his nickname in my recent "FTS" about Mike:
Before we go any further in the proceedings, the matter of Mike’s nickname probably needs to be addressed. In this age of political correctness, some might take offense to calling the young man “Mongolian.” The way I see it Mike has absolutely no qualms about it, as he is extremely proud to be the first hoopster from his native country to earn a D-1 basketball scholarship. If he’s totally cool with it, we should be as well, right?

Mike is very polished and well-rounded as a player. He knows that he needs to get bigger and stronger, but his overall game will be D-1 ready. I think a lot of the coaches scouting Flyin’ to the Hoop would admit they missed on this kid. He’s the type of player that makes everyone better and stands out when he’s in the court. I was disappointed when Greer left, but Mike will be a huge upgrade.

Mike looks really comfortable with his game. Like a player who could quietly put up 20 points and a half dozen assists. Defense could be an adventure until "muscle Mike" shows up.

Smooth is the word that comes to mind when you see him with the ball. Obviously needs some meat on his bones for division 1, but imagine our size if he was a guard or shooting guard. We are already big on the front line. Love the length.

The defending state champion, Centerville Elks just beat the 4th ranked So. Cal Academy by 10 points. 6’7 Senior Rich Rolf scored 29 points in a sensational effort. Rich is a little under the radar and hopefully this will open the door for bigger offers. Lots of college coaches in attendance, the kid can flat-out play.

Interesting that Lawrent Rice from Wayne mentioned that Louisville, Georgetown, Kansas State, VCU, Notre Dame are the schools going hard after him. Anyone know if there was a fallout with UD?

Did Amzil's brother get in the game? What was his line? From the program it looked like he was about 6'8" or 6'9".

How old is his younger brother? Is he someone UD could/should recruit?
Looks like the original tweet sent by his brother says that he is 16 years old, whether UD should recruit him or not is beyond my capabilities, still another couple of seasons to mature and grow before thinking about playing college ball in the States.
