If we are going to see job status articles on AG, I would much prefer them to be on speculative candidate position articles than speculative hot seat articles.

I don't see it. I'm sure if there was any thought, AG would just pick up the phone and call Donovan.
Living here in OKC while Harden was traded, Durant left, and eventually Westbrook was traded (after the GM, Sam Presti, realized he kept the wrong one of the 3), the press conferences around that activity were similar to the Jerry Krause Bulls. I'm not saying they are the same personalities, but both share similar traits in that both act (or acted in the case of the deceased Krause) as if they were a much more important piece of the puzzle that the players or the coaches. Although, I will admit that the last series of trades really set up the team.
Will be interesting to see how BD leaving will impact performance next year.

Seeing this post, my first instinct was to roll my eyes. But if OKC requested an interview, CAG would at least have to listen, right?
We know the Grants have four children. Two were in HS when he was hired in 2017. Anthony Jr is the oldest, Jayda is a sophomore at UD ( https://daytonflyers.com/sports/wome...da-grant/10538), Preston (UD '22?), and Makai is the youngest.
The timeline:
March 2015: CAG was excused from Alabama
June 2015: joined Donovan in OKC
March 2017: hired by UD
UD Tenures:
JOB: 5 seasons
Purnell: 8 seasons
Gregory: 8 seasons
Miller: 6 seasons
CAG: 3 & counting
Wouldn't interest in CAG suggest OKC wanting to prolong the Donovan era? 0.600 record over 5 seasons, exited 1st round of the playoffs last four. And if there's any sense OKC did Donovan wrong, CAG may steer clear on principle.
CAG's stock may never be higher as the reigning NCOY, and maybe UD has peaked too. He's still fairly young at 54. He has exactly one NCAA win in 12 seasons. A couple sweet 16's or better seems attainable if he stays at UD long-term.
CAG's due a raise and contract extension if it hasn't happened already. We can approach Top 10 money, so that wouldn't be his main motivation, and after Alabama, job security and loyalty should matter more.

A quick news search finds no other articles linking him as a candidate for the search going on 6 weeks. Only if/when OKC seeks permission for an interview will I give it another thought.

Maybe I’m in denial...but I just don’t see AG looking to go back to the NBA. I don’t see him leaving UD until he retires unless the support he gets today from a lot of different resources, goes south. He places a high priority on buying into family and I don’t see him leaving the players...I believe everyone is his recruit now.
