I am happy for Ted Kissell.....the AD who transformed all aspects of Dayton athletics.

His oft-stated goal was making it to the second week of the Dance. Ted is not around to be directly involved...but, the fact is, he was very much involved.

	Ted Kissell TED KISSELL Athletic Director at the University of Dayton from 1993-2008. Helped spearhead a renewed commitment to athletic excellence by hiring Oliver Purnell to resurrect the men's basketball program, and emphasized major non-revenue sports to raise UD's profile. Helped UD receive an invitation to the A10 Conference, developed new baseball, softball, soccer, football, and basketball facility upgrades, and achieved NCAA appearances in men's basketball, men's and women's soccer, and volleyball -- the latter three being program's firsts. Also served as UD's Vice President and improved overall academic performance among student athletes.

I've lived in Dayton all my life and have supported my Flyers throughout college at Ohio University the past 3 years. In November I accepted an internship for the semester with the Dallas Cowboys. As you know the Final Four is played in Arlington at AT&T Stadium. Turns out through work I was able to get my hand on a Final Four ticket a few sections behind the basket. I'm starting to think that being down here is destiny....

I was about to be very angry about some of those missed walking calls where Syracuse took 3 huge steps on the way to lay-ups. There were two plays that were absolutely shocking.

They faded from my mind quickly when I realized we were going to the Sweet 16.

Went out after the game for pizza on a natural high. As we got to Lou Malnotti's front door four or five young people walked out chanting, "Goooooo, Dayton Flyers."

Late yesterday about an hour before the game I went out to the store with my wife's car....after my errand the car would not start. The battery was new, so I knew it was the starter motor.

But, I forgot to take my cell phone with me...so, I was stranded, sort of. Went back into the store to borrow a cell to call my wife. She came to pick me up with my car.

Not a minute after she arrived in the parking lot a lady in another car plowed into the car my wife was driving.

Now we're sitting there with one car disabled with a failed starter motor and our other car with the side pushed in. Not a great day.

Just a few hours later my wife looked at me and exclaims..."I don't think I've ever seen you so happy".
