When Jim Paxson isn't Jim Paxson...

...when someone, somehow, and without adult supervision, can refer to him as BILL Paxson on all video boards last night as he was profiled as a former White Allen MVP. Thank God Jeff Stevens still correctly called him Jim Paxson while reading his bio.

MVP, hall of famer, son of a hall of famer, 5th leading scorer in Flyer history...Bill Paxson!

I saw that. Embarrassing. I guess they need someone over 30 to run the board.

Never heard of Jim Paxson. Is he a cousin of Bill?

For those who weren’t there, UD did a tribute to Jim Jr and put 2 pics of him on the YUGE midcourt scoreboard screen. In fancy cursive writing, they spelled out Bill Paxson. The Queen noticed it before me. It was a serious WTF moment and one that should not go unaddressed. Where’s Bucky when you need him? I’m sure he would have had a few choice words about the tribute to ‘Bill’.

The intern was probably thinking of Bill Paxton.

I loved him in “Twister”!

And I noted the gaffe in the game thread last night. “Bill” Paxson? Seriously?

I’m assuming that a naive, unknowing student-intern put together the photos and biography so the real question remains: what paid, adult Assistant AD approved it! I refuse to believe that anything put on the big screens isn’t reviewed and pre-approved. Even the twitter photos have to be OK’d...right?!

I’m thankful that Jim, Jr didn’t fly in for the recognition.

The thing that stunned me was the autograph that was part of the scoreboard display. How did they get an authentic "Bill" Paxson autograph?

Don’t forget other greats of the Arena era. You know? Guys like:
-Darrell Smith;

Oh no....................

I woke up screaming following a terrible nightmare last night. My wish had come true! The legendary head coaches name was finally on the court just beyond the FT line extended. Big block letters with the coaches autograph right above the letters. Right there for everyone to see, in the arena and on TV..........

Tim Blackburn
TIM BLACKBURN

Ugh! What a nightmare. I went right back to sleep knowing that something like that could never happen.
