So their guards led the team in scoring.

Jeff Van Gundy will be doing our game tomorrow, not sure if he will be at the Arena or doing it remotely but either way I love it.

KD is key. He needs to stay out of foul trouble tomorrow. It'll be tough to win if he plays like he did Friday. I think he's too good to have two bad games in a row, so I am predicting a big win.

I realize that writing these previews for a team that has only played one game could be kinda tricky but this guy was way off. Darrell Davis and Mikesell in the starting lineup? My feeling is that he just looked at the highest scorers and plugged them in the starting lineup.
Cooke and Davis both showed good ability off of the bench and should both be major contributors for Dayton this year.
|
I am sure Kyle appreciates that he *should* be a major contributor this year. If he just applies himself and tries to stay within himself I am sure he can do it.

I liked the part about Archie doesn't like going deep into his rotation, based upon last season when he limited his rotation to just 7 guys for the post season. Hey nimrod, they only had 7 players, the year prior Archie went 11 deep on the way to the elite 8. Translation, you can't pigeon hole Archie, he'll adjust to what he has to work with.

Nice block by Pollard. That makes 3 so far for the Flyers in just over 3 minutes.

Big Steve dominating on D while in game. I have a feeling that he's not going to be removed from starting lineup until he graduates.

We are shooting very poorly. Lots of missed point blank shots, and 2-9 on wide open threes. 5-12 on two's

A little out of sync on O, but the D is solid and should nurse the Flyers through any dry spells.

That was a fun first half, even if work required missing some of it. Impressed with Steve. He brings a new dynamic to the team that I love to see.

great 1st half, even without Pollard. Freshman shooting FTs great. Cooke started off game like he played the first game, but came back off the bench and played great. Arch said we have to be patient with Big Steve, the way he's playing, being patient has never been so easy.

Wow this team looks great and no Pollard or Pierre. These Freshmen can play. Everyone, including me, thought it would be Crosby having the biggest impact and minutes. He has not sniffed the floor. Williams is a player. He just needs some weight and strength. Sam looks much better today.

If you would have told me 12 minutes left and Pollard is 0 for 3 and just a couple rebounds, I would guess we are down 10 points, not up 25!?!?!?

I like the law firm of Cooke, McElvene and Smith as a choice.

Wouldn't Smith's name come first, he's the founding partner.

Nice little taste of what Crosby will bring to the program. I liked seeing that.

I like our chances against Iowa a whole lot better than I did a week ago.

Glad that our freshman are getting the opportunity to have some good minutes. This team is pure enjoyment to follow. Got to get back to work but this was a great break.

Agree, those passes at the end showed how he can see the floor.

Suffocating defense at times today. Lots of contributors on offense. The only thing that tempers my excitement is the inexperience with Alabama. Their frosh/sophs just couldn't match ours today but they should be decent in 2 years. Wonder who wins a game between SEMO and 'bama this year.

I'd have to bet on 'bama, the Flyers played a much better game today.

my money would be on SEMO. I thought they had more talent. They were probably better coached too.

Bama has 2 seniors and 4 juniors, and we have 1 and 4, but you are right, they cannot match our talent.

Well if they meet in the CBI, you're on. I hope Bama improves fast and gets to the big dance though.

I didn't watch the game, so who is our 3rd point guard? Scoochie and Crosby's minutes only add up to 33. Davis and Davis on the floor together? Who runs the point?

Today's blowout win was awesome to see for a couple different reasons that all go hand in hand with each other.
1.UD is proving that they are going to be a good team without Pierre if he decides not to play this year.
2. UD is proving that there are several players that are capable of producing and producing at a high level.
3. We can compete and be successful if a star player doesn't have his usual good to great game. (Pollard)
4. It seems to matter less and less who's on the floor as long as we can keep the same coach on the sideline. (Obviously we have great players but it doesn't seem to matter who's on the floor. They are all producing. I credit Archie and his coaching ability/attitude.)
