Decent 1st half. Chris Wright played good defense, giving us some running opportunities.

Carter and Iliadis have combined for 23 off the bench
35-32 ODU at the half.

Luke is killing us. He can't guard anyone and he can't hit anything right now. I think he is 0-5 from 3. He needs to be keeping a seat warm when he is shooting like this.

I would sit Luke the entire 2nd half. He hasn't been close yet.

All in all, not a bad half of basketball. I am feeling for Luke. Last year at least a couple of those would have gone in. He looks stone cold.

All things considered, possibly one of the best 1st halfs of the season.

Typical ending to the first half
Please get Luke off the floor. He can't shoot now, that's what we needed from him.

We did a great job on the boards. I'm very impressed. Offense has been spotty but you expect that on the road. Need to give JS the green light to just take it to the hoop at will. They can't stop him.

Best 1st half this year, and that is with nothing on offense from CW or Luke. Both of them will come alive in the next half -- that is why they call it an average.

IMO the defense is still not good enough to win this game, especially if ODU shows more patience. Most of ODUs issues have been the same as the UD, forced shots early in clock and dumb TOs

I like how smart Juwan is playing. He isn't just rushing into the lane. He played his game of distributing the ball until some driving opportunities presented themselves.

we need to come out strong in the 2nd half, not one of the many traits BG has shown over his tenure. would be nice to see that change right here, right now

Could have been a lot worse. We go to a lot of loose balls and showed a lot of hustle. ODU is a good rebounding team and we held our own. I also just had surgery and am on pain meds right now so who knows what I am looking at.
I guess what I am trying to say is, without looking at stats it just seemed like we held our own on the boards. I didn't find myself throwing stuff at the tv and screaming, "will someone grab the freakin ball", which has been known to happen at the Tlangs household.

ODU is a half court team. The more we are able to get out on the break, the more things swing in our favor. But it takes some steals, blocks and defensive rebounds to get there.

That one move that CW had in the paint was sick. I know he missed the shot; however, he needs to keep taking it to the hoop like that. CW looks like he is trying to strap the team on his back. Overall, good 1st half for him.

Also love how we are attacking the basket...not finishing all that well but still a good plan..
CW having a tough time finishing also but his D and rebounding making a big difference...And, those shots will start to fall.
Very good first half.
I'll be Captain Obvious here but they have start out strong in th e2nd half.

Down Three After a Good Half
UD played a really good first half on the road against a good team. Put two halves together and they may steal a win on the road. Official stats show UD with no blocks. I thought CW had two?

we were outscored like 30-6 in the first 7 minutes of the second half in the back to back games earlier in the year.

scored 34 points TOTAL vs UC...enough said. also the games against east tennessee state and CCSU, we came out flat, i dont remember specifics, but there was a reason they hung around all game, never came out strong to put either of them away. hence both games go to the wire...

43-43 off of 2 buckets by CJ. Amybody not named CW is getting pushed around in the paint. IMO, the strength of ODU inside is likely to be the difference in the game.

We take the lead. This looks like it will stay interesting. ODU cannot keep hitting free throws like they are -- I hope not at least.

Call me an excuse maker, but these refs sure are quick to blow the whistle for a foul on us.

IF DS could figure out how to play without getting into foul trouble, Kavs wouldn't have to log minutes. But that hasn't been the case and probably won't be. So, unless you have another answer, or perhaps Irv Giddings has another year of eligiblity left, there's not much of a choice.

The announcers would argue that we travel every time down the floor and they don't call it

One radio announcer is convinced that any call in UD's favor is actually a UD travel or a UD foul.

Kav and Luke are liabilities. Unfortunately, the way they are calling fouls against us, we need them just to steal some foul calls.

We seem to get down 7-8pts, then tie it up, get down 7-8pts, then tie it up, get down....

Paint game is getting them to the line, where the difference in the game is. We're playing them pretty evenly.

Listen to their crowd. Our crowds should be at least this loud. No excuse we can't be even louder.

team needs to play well for the crowd to be in the game. It's hard to scream, yell, and cheer for terrible basketball.

Another fly-by-night theory proven wrong. So far this year, 5 positives, 3 negatives, and one no change. Theories are fine if you can back them up. Obviously, this one fell flat on its face. Thanks for the info Gazoo.
